He was a collector of guns and knives, and loved ice cream no matter the flavor!He is survived by his wife, Donna of Albion; one daughter, Stephanie Crisp, of Fairfield, Illinois; one son, Brian and wife Courtney Powell of Albion; four brothers: Tom Powell of St. Petersburg, Florida, Bill and wife Carolyn Powell of Olney, Illinois, Charles and wife Patty Powell of Albion, and Ronnie Powell of Albion; and four grandchildren: Dallas, Leo Miciah, Keylie, and Robbie. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: James and Dennis; one sister, Nancy; and one granddaughter, Kristina Rose.Visitation will be held Thursday, June 1, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home in Albion. Oakes, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, March 7, 2017.Daughter of the late Dr. Albert and Lucille Beaupre Barcomb, Jeanne was born and raised in Rochester, New Hampshire, and graduated from Simmons College in 1956 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. Jeanne and Bill moved to Fairfield, Connecticut in 1966. After raising her four children, she returned to work as a chemist for Polymer Industries and Stolt-Nielson Shipping Co. and as a chemistry lab instructor at Fairfield University.Jeanne made many close friends through her community work and enthusiasm for bridge. Genealogy became her retirement hobby providing her with many reasons to travel nationally and internationally.
