Barbara Geraldine Curtis, 56, of Lexington Park, MD passed away peacefully on June 5, 2017 at her home.Barbara was born on January 4, 1961 to Ms. Mary Macy Briscoe and Mr. William Cornelius Briscoe in Valley Lee, MD. She graduated from Great Mills High School in 1978. Barbara went on to be employed by McDonalds, working her way up to Store Manager for many years.Barbara was a fun loving person. She enjoyed a good laugh and making people laugh. She was well loved, and will be so missed. Memories of Barbara will live on in our hearts.Barbara is survived by three brothers, Charles Curtis (Brenda), William Cornelius Briscoe and Frankie Barber; one sister, Shirley Briscoe; two daughters, Vicky Brooks (Carlos), Shaquita Mcghee (Jonathan), Kimberly Briscoe (Honorary daughter) and three grandsons, Parren Barnes, Maxwell Brooks and Kayson Mcghee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Geraldine Brupbacher, sister Helen Callaghan(Bill) , his grandsons Cyrus L. Barker and Justin Addison.An engineering prodigy, Ben graduated valedictorian from Warren Easton Senior High and received a full scholarship to Tulane University where he graduated first in his class in Mechanical Engineering. He joined the Sea-bees as a Lieutenant and served in Okinawa during World War II. After the war he joined the Trane Co. as a sales engineer, eventually leaving Trane for James F. O’Neil in 1950 where he was voted Who’s Who in Orleans Industries for his work. In 1956, he left James F. O’Neil to start his own company, Albach Co., with his partner, Louis Alfonso. Through his tireless work and success he expanded Albach to include Cembell Industries in Chalmette, La. He enjoyed many years taking customers and family fishing on his boat the Miss Happ in Breton Sound. An avid hunter and fisherman, his passion and expertise led him to aid in forming the CCA of Louisiana in order to conserve marine life and the coastal environment. While raising their four children, Ben and Lois became avid world travelers, frequenting the Yucatan Peninsula, where the family explored Mayan ruins and made lifelong friends.In his early life, he spent countless hours in City Park, fishing in the lagoons and paddling in Bayou St. John. His love of the outdoors led him to look for rural property. In 1974, he bought his first piece of land in Mississippi. What started as a weekend getaway for the family became an outlet for his restless work ethic; he built houses, grew crops, took steps to conserve the land and made the property self-sustaining. He became a farmer, tennis player, woodsman and conservationist. His farm has not only served as a treasure for family and friends, but also became a temporary home for many after Katrina. Geraldine Grace (McGovern) D’Elia died unexpectedly on Saturday April 1, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She leaves her devoted husband and best friend Nunzi John D’Elia of 55 years, two daughter’s Maryann (D’Elia) Copeland and husband Jim of Leicester and Catherine ( D’Elia) Fontaine and husband Timothy of Leicester; three sons John D’Elia and wife Annie of Illinois, Peter D’Elia and wife Ashley of Auburn and Joseph D’Elia and his companion Jennifer. Geraldine leaves seven grandchildren who she loved deeply cherished Nicholas, Kayla and Emily Fontaine, Christopher, James and Kevin Copeland and Ava D’Elia, she leaves two sisters Claire (McGovern) Polhemus and Catherine (McGovern) DiGerlando, she also leaves many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. TN, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2017 at the Tennessee State Veterans Home in Humboldt.??He was born on November 19, 1949 in Dyer County to the late James Robert (Dick) Wilson and the late Geraldine McDaniel Wilson. Billy received a higher technical education from Newbern VoTech and continued a career in industrial maintenance throughout his lifetime. First, working at Hoover Universal for 10 years and then later retired from Quebecor World after 20 years of employment. Billy was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam War, where he received the Bronze Star Medal. He was also a former member of Lenox Baptist Church and West Dyersburg Church of Christ.??Services will be at 3 p.m. today in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Mr. Rick Crawford officiating. ??The family will receive visitors from 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. today at Dyersburg Funeral Home.??Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Linda S.
