Adam Furr, a social studies teacher at the school. The school’s Madrigal Singers will provide music.Wilkes Central High’s graduation ceremony is at 8 p.m June 8 at the school’s Wes Steele Stadium. Tanner Bailey, senior class president, will give the welcome. Jabreaha Kyle, student body president, will introduce guests. Ann Brooks will make the senior class remarks. Dr. Dion Stocks, principal, will make congratulatory remarks and give out diplomas. Jill Mastin-Byers, a guidance counselor at the school, will present the senior class. Wilkes Board of Education member Sharron Huffman and Dr. Westley Wood, executive director of personnel for the Wilkes schools, will give greetings.Seniors Anna Brooks, Emily Gant and Jack Privette will sing the national anthem. Senior members of the Chamber Singers will sing the school’s alma mater.

Francek Jr. (Laura), and John Francek (Heather); proud grandfather of Christian, Jared, Tanner, Zach, and Ryan; son of the late Joseph and Violet; brother of Elaine Christopoulos, and the late William and Robert; beloved uncle of Edward Francek, Diane Francek, Cherie Gill, Mark (Francek) McIntyre, and Alexia Christopoulos; and loyal friend of many.Jim was a well-known barber in the Parma area for 60 years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Known by many for his wide-ranging interests and endeavors, he is remembered most as a businessman and president of Myers Mortuary and Cremation Services. One of his best lifetime friends, Nate Tanner, described Myers as the “consummate” funeral director.“He was quiet, dignified and genteel,” Tanner said. “But he was a cowboy at heart.”RELATED: Richard E. MyersMyers was a past chairman of the Ogden Pioneer Days Rodeo who counted a big Irish setter and a palomino horse among his best friends, Tanner said. “He was quite the man.”As evidence of Myers’ cowboy heart, he was an annual participant in the Bison Roundup at Antelope Island for many years. “He wouldn’t miss that,” Tanner said.Tanner also described Myers as a great intellect, recalling him purchasing early editions of the “world’s greatest” books and delving into them. He said Myers had read most of the world’s great authors by the time he was 30.Described as a self-made man, Myers started in the funeral home business when he was “struggling to make it,” Tanner said.“He came out of the  Army and took that little business his father started and turned it into a real business,” Tanner said.Despite his struggles, Tanner said Myers made time for a social life.
