Marvin, formerly of Monticello where he was very active in his community. He was born in Wayne County to the late Ellis M. and Elizabeth E. Hicks.In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Maryann Hicks, two sisters, Ruby Jenkins and Martha Sue Thompson Eve.He was a retired coroner of Wayne County and former owner of Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home.He is survived by his wife and caregiver Joyce Ramsey Hicks; four children Forrest (Susie) Hicks, Gordon (Marla) Hicks, Jill (Steve) Lawson, and Jan (Larry) Lewis; two stepchildren, Doug Ramsey and Deborah Chenault; four grandsons, Daniel Hicks, Matthew Hicks, Tyler Hicks, and Travis Lewis; two brothers, Fred Hicks, and Robertie (Doris) Hicks; and one sister, Gladys (Ott) Carpenter.Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at the New Charity Baptist Church at 2pm with Bro. Koger Ramsey officiating. Entombment will follow in the Elk Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday at the church from 11am-2pm.US ARMYLarry James WatsonLarry James Watson, 69, of Richmond, died Friday, April 7, 2017 at his residence following a long illness. He died peacefully in the care of his nephew and niece, Jackie and Sherry Hacker. Larry was a Madison County native born March 14, 1948, son of the late James Watson and the late Gertrude Gatliff (Mama) Brock.Larry was an U. S. Army Vietnam War veteran, painter and handy-man. He was a member of the American Legion and an avid gardener, and had been a resident of Madison County all his life.Survivors include 5 siblings, Hazel O’Donnell (Harold), Virginia Elam, Monroe Brock, Lindsey Brock (Billie), and Mary Ellen Watson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. In addition to his parent she was preceded in death by 3 siblings, Walter Brock, Christine Goodrich, and Edna Spires.In accordance with Larry’s wishes no public service is scheduled. Burial will take place at 2:00 pm, Monday, April 10, 2017 at Madison County Memorial Gardens.Reppert Funeral Home and Cremation Service entrusted with arrangements. Jimmy worked at Square D Company in Lexington, KY, and retired from Square D Company in Oxford, OH, after 36 years as a production manager. He also served in the National Guard.
