SIERRA VISTA — On Saturday, at more than 1,100 veterans’ cemeteries across the world, wreaths were placed on as many headstones as possible to remember the lives of veterans this holiday season.Wreaths across America began in 1992 when Morrill Worcester of Worcester Wreath Company had a surplus of wreaths. As a young boy, Worcester won a trip to Washington, D.C. and visited Arlington National Cemetery. The quiet tribute continued just in Arlington, until 2005 when a photo of the cemetery covered with snow and wreaths hit the internet. At that point, cemeteries around the world joined in.The non-profit was formed in 2007 and has continually sought to achieve the goal of placing a wreath on every veteran’s headstone. At Southern Arizona Veterans Cemetery on Saturday, there were 3,000 wreaths placed by members of the community, including service members, Civil Air Patrol, Boy Scouts, and Team Red, White, and Blue members.Lisa Graeme, member of the local chapter of Team Red, White, and Blu

Graveside services and burial will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, in the Hampton Cemetery in Hampton. Visitation with the family present will be 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.Memorials may be made to the family to provide a memorial for those who helped provide for her care in the past few months.
