Born on May 6, 1932 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of Edith Waltz Dansberger and Elmer William Dansberger.Robert grew up in Baltimore where he met his wife, Betty Beebe Dansberger and started his family. Robert also lived in Salisbury and worked at his own business, Robert’s Television Sales and Service in Salisbury, and later the Lipton Tea Company. Lipton Tea Company moved the family back to Baltimore. After leaving Lipton Tea Company, Robert worked for Simonize-Texize for 20 years and retired.In retirement, Robert started his own business, Dan-Zalea Nursery Wholesale and Garden Center. Robert’s green thumb made a successful business. His retirement from the nursery/garden center business had him follow his Eastern Shore weekend passion of crabbing and becoming a commercial waterman; crabbing and taking out fishing parties.Robert attended City College in Baltimore, MD, and also attended electronic, TV, and oil burner trade schools. Once he became a father, he became Cub Master for the Salisbury Cub Scouts and later, started a troop and was Scout Master in Perry Hall, MD. He was an active member of the Salisbury Jaycees.
