Brian of Auburn and U.S. Army Specialist Daniel McInnes of Worcester; her mother, Bernadette (Jolicoeur) Miller and the late Gerard Miller of Worcester; two brothers, Paul Miller of Northampton and Richard Miller and his wife, Denise of Goodview, VA; two sisters, Mary Belton and her husband Stephen of Delray Beach, FL and Michelle Loiselle and her husband David of Worcester; also survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and grand-puppies.Denise enjoyed reading, traveling whenever she was able, going to musical theater productions, shopping and always made time for her manicures and pedicures with her daughter Erin. She also loved the family pets, Piper and Jethro.Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Denise’s family on Friday June 16, 2017 from 5-8 pm in the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn. He served as a medical officer in the US Navy from 1953 to 1956 and was assigned to the USS Fremont. He found his lifelong home, as a general practitioner in Franklin, Virginia, affiliated with Southampton Memorial Hospital. He was past president of the Tri-County Medical Society, served as delegate for the Virginia Medical Society for 15 years, and was a member of the American Medical Association and Southern Medical Association. After 36 years of private practice, Dr. McNeely became Medical Director for Union Camp Corporation. He continued as the paper mill’s medical director through its acquisition by International Paper, serving in that position for 10 years. He became a member of the college of Occupational and Environmental Medicine. He was a member of High Street United Methodist Church and the Franklin Rotary Club. His favorite pastimes were reading, traveling, family beach trips, and attending Duke University football and basketball games where he was a lifetime member of Iron Dukes Athletics.A service will be held at Sossoman Funeral Home in Morganton, North Carolina. There will be a gathering of friends from 1pm to 2pm Saturday, June 24, 2017 prior to the 2pm service at the funeral home chapel. The entombment will followed at Burk Memorial Park Mausoleum with military honors provided by United States Navy and Caldwell County Veteran’s Honor Guard. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all who offered their prayers and support during his time of illness. Throughout his musical career, Otis played with several notable musicians including the late Ray Charles, the late Dizzy Gillespie, the late Lionel Hampton, the late Duke Ellington, the late Count Basie, Sonny Craves and numerous other musicians and entertainers.The most popular movie in which Otis participated was “Hello Dolly” as the pianist in the Louis Armstrong’s Orchestra. After many years of working with various groups and entertainers, Otis was content with composing, studying natural health processes, traveling and performing as a pianist/vocalist to satisfy the musical appetites of his audience.Also preceding him in death is his brother, Dr. William Allen “Billy” Hayes, Fayetteville, GA and his maternal grandmothers, Mrs. Alice Lackey and Mrs. Janie Walker, both of Chattanooga, TN.Otis is survived by his devoted children, Otis Roland (Ann) Hayes III, Esq., Sherman Oaks, CA, Felicia Maria Hayes, Austin, TX and their mother Christella McCline, Austin, TX and Saarah Hayes Ishii, Tokyo, Japan and her mother, Mami Ishii, Fukuoka, Japan, brother, Reverend A.
