She was born on the family farm near Lillis. A visitation, rosary and Mass will be Saturday, March 18, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Topeka. Burial will be in West Lawn Memorial Gardens. April 21, 1935, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Shell Creek, where she was a lifelong member. Elva attended school in rural District 2, Kramer High School, Wayne State College and Midland College. After turning 16 years of age, she taught in various rural schools in Colfax, Platte and Dodge counties. In 1959, she was awarded her Bachelor of Science degree in education at Midland College. Elva ended more than 50 years of teaching math and English at Columbus Junior High when she retired. She was a teacher of many who will recall her dedication to her students. When new teachers joined the ranks, she would always make them welcome.Throughout the years, Elva enjoyed tending her flower garden, growing violets, sewing, bowling, crocheting, traveling, baking for family gatherings and caring for her parents and others. Even her great-nieces and great-nephews could always depend on receiving a birthday card from her. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gama, Columbus Area Retired Teachers and Personnel, Columbus Education Association and Golden Keys Extension Club. At church, she enjoyed Ladies Aid and for over 30 years and taught junior high Sunday school. He was a member of the United Mine Workers. He has attended the Jasonville Assembly of God Church. Melvin loved hunting, fishing and working with his bird dogs. Bob was a charter member of Navy Reserve Surface Division, St. Joseph, American Legion Post 359, IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) and MEARC (Midland Empire Amateur Radio Club). His interests included fishing, frog hunting, boating, mushroom hunting and casino gambling.He had a strong love of travel and especially loved time spent with grandsons. He was of the Christian faith.Survivors include: wife, Winifred; two daughters, Cathy (Dwayne) Wilson, of Buhl, Idaho, and Jeanne Moore (Gene, deceased), of Mound City, Missouri; four grandsons, Walt (Teresa) Godleski, Drew Nash, Kevin Moore, Alex Moore; two great-grandsons, Robert Smith and Levi Godleski; various nieces and nephews and great- nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by: a son, Robert E. Continental Oil Company in 1945, having thirteen different assignments during the first year, Marie became a master at moving households at a moment’s notice.  They later settled in Midland, Texas in April 1960.  Never one to sit idly by, Marie became active in her Church.  She served as secretary for Grace Lutheran Church and later as treasurer for Midland Lutheran Church.  She was a secretary for Getty Oil and Texaco Phillips.  Marie was a masterful homemaker be it sewing clothes for her family, knitting, crocheting, cooking from scratch, and growing and canning vegetables.Marie is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Walker; her son, David Walker; her daughter, Anne Cihonski and husband Rick; her sisters, Alberta Boehm and husband Richard, Lydia Ellison and husband Bill, Geraldine Gerling and husband Bob; her brother, George Hoeldtke; and her brother-in-law, Felix Wiley.She is survived by her son, Robert C. He was the brother of Michael of this township.Born in Westwood, Mr. Dunigan lived in Midland Park for most of his life. He was a member of NOCO Bike Life and Team SRT Street Car Takeover of Denver. Also, he was a parishioner of St. Luke's R.C. Church, Ho-Ho-Kus.Services were Monday at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, Hawthorne, followed by Mass at St. Luke's R.C. Church. Interment was at Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes.
