She had worked at Whitney Place in Westborough for the past eight years as a billing clerk in the accounting office. She leaves behind her husband of 40 years, Michael McInnes; two children, Erin Sheridan and her husband Brian of Auburn and U.S. Army Specialist Daniel McInnes of Worcester; her mother, Bernadette (Jolicoeur) Miller and the late Gerard Miller of Worcester; two brothers, Paul Miller of Northampton and Richard Miller and his wife, Denise of Goodview, VA; two sisters, Mary Belton and her husband Stephen of Delray Beach, FL and Michelle Loiselle and her husband David of Worcester; also survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and grand-puppies.Denise enjoyed reading, traveling whenever she was able, going to musical theater productions, shopping and always made time for her manicures and pedicures with her daughter Erin. She also loved the family pets, Piper and Jethro.Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Denise’s family on Friday June 16, 2017 from 5-8 pm in the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn. A funeral service celebrating her life will be on Saturday June 17, 2017 at 9:30 am in Saint Thomas Episcopal Church, 35 School Street, Auburn. Burial will follow in Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester.

Cerebellar Ataxia.Born in 1945 in Sheridan to Donald Vernon Griffith and Louise Burley Griffith, Marcia attended elementary and high schools there. She also received her AA degree at the Sheridan College.  She earned her BA in Elementary Education (1967) at the University of Wyoming, which enabled her to teach preschool at the Big Horn Elementary School.While working as a librarian at the Wyoming State Hospital (1971-1973), Marcia met her future husband John (Bud) Salmela (who died in 1998).  They moved to Evanston, where Marcia established many friendships and became a Sunday school teacher at the Calvary Baptist Church, as she had done at the First Presbyterian Church in Sheridan. In addition to her church affiliations, Marcia was a member of PEO chapters in Sheridan and Evanston and Job’s Daughters Bethel 27.Marcia spent her last months in Salt Lake City receiving health and hospice care and was cremated there. Marcia is survived by her siblings Bruce Griffith, Leslie Griffith Engebretson (d. Boston, MA and left to serve in the army during the Korean War in 1954, where he was a member of the Military Police serving in Japan. When William returned from Japan he was stationed in Ft. Sheridan, Illinois which is where he met his wife Jeannette. In 1958 he and Jeanette married and settled in Waukegan. Following his discharge from the army, William went to work for Abbott Laboratories and stayed with the company until his retirement in 1995. William enjoyed his job and was fond of saying “if you like what you do, it isn’t work”. He stayed active with the Abbott Retirement Club and stayed in contact with many former Abbott colleagues.An avid golfer, he and Jeanette spent many years traveling and playing at golf courses across the country. William and Jeannette loved to travel and visited every state in the U.S. and ventured to many other countries as well.William will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

In 1882, Hawke was elected to the board of the James Sweet National Bank and with George Shroat built a large brick business block in the Sheridan section of Auburn.On May 2, 1887, Hawke, died and was buried in Nebraska City’s Wyuka Cemetery. BARABOO-Ann Marie Deerwester Sheridan, 78, of Baraboo, died at 10 a.m., Monday, March 13, 2017 at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo. Ann was born Sept. 24, 1938 in Poynette, devoted daughter to Therman and Dorothy Fairchild Deerwester, and beloved sister to Marshall F. Deerwester and Stephen D. Deerwester, who have all preceded her in death.In 1957, Ann graduated at the top of her class from Rio High School greatly honored to be her class’ valedictorian. She went on to study business at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Ann married William P. Sheridan on Aug. 16, 1958 and together they raised their son, Christopher Sheridan of Colorado Springs, Colo.After living in Kansas, Texas, Arizona, California, and Colorado, Ann returned to Wisconsin in 1978 where she spent many years serving as the Benefit Specialist at the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Columbia County.Ann loved to read and enjoyed classical music, cross-stitch, Sudoku, and gardening. She moved out West when she was 22 attending “Normal School,” while living with her sister Nena and her husband Dr. Tom McLin a physician at Fort Mackenzie in Sheridan, Wyoming, where she met her cowboy for life.Ina Mae and Sonny were married March 2, 1935, in Mt Carmel, Illinois, and headed for a lifetime of ranching at the foot of the Big Horn Mountains between the Little Horn and the Rotten Grass Creek west of Wyola.She was well known and appreciated for her loving, friendly and gracious manner. She cooked to the delight of many large threshing, haying and cattle round-up and shipping crews. Many times there were 20-25 or more to feed plus her family. No one went away hungry or without desserts and with a comment “are you sure you got enough? Please have another homemade cinnamon roll or cookie!”She was active in many lady Masonic related activities including, Order of Eastern Star, and Daughters of the Nile. She enjoyed her many friends with the ladies of the Big Horn Shrine Club and Black Horse Patrol of the Al Bedoo Shrine.
