Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.Georgie Lee (Totty) Whatley-Spradlin was born November 28, 1939, to the late Floyd LeRoy Totty and Ruthie Marie (Harris) Totty in Wynnewood, Okla.  She departed from this life on March 22, 2017, in Ardmore. Georgie was raised mainly in Leon attending school there. She married Hubert Leo Whatley on June 3, 1957, at Marietta. They moved to Napa Valley, Calif., and then Lone Grove for 45 years. Georgie worked outside the home as a nurse for many years. Hubert preceded her in death on October 20, 2003 ,and then later in the years; she married Joe Spradlin July 15, 2006.  He too preceded her in death. Georgie loved to read, gardening and tend to her roses. She is a member of Christ Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church. Preceding her in death are her parents; infant son, Ronald David Whatley; sister, Viola Fletcher; brother, Kenny Totty; and great-grandson, Jeffery Denham. Georgie is survived by her daughters, Sandra Dyer and husband, Kenneth of Lone Grove, and Debrah Butler and husband, Butch of Lone Grove; son, Bob and Jessica Whatley of Ardmore; stepchildren, Denise, Erin and Joe Jr.; sister, Alice Hood and husband, Mike of Dickson; brothers, Floyd Totty of Lone Grove, Don Totty of Napa Valley, Calf., Albert Totty and wife, Lisa of Fort Mojave, Calif., and Richard Totty of Suisun City, Calif.; children, who were like her own, Darinda Caudle and husband, Gus of Lone Grove; grandchildren, Emily Johnson and

Thomas Acuff, Jr., 85, of Beach Park, passed away Friday, February 17, 2017 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan. He was born October 24, 1931 in Wynne, Arkansas to the late Thomas and Myrtle (Swidle) Acuff, Sr. He was a United States Air Force Veteran. Thomas is survived by his brother John Acuff. Preceded in death by his nieces and nephews. Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 10:30am at St. Anastasia Catholic Church, 624 Douglas Ave., Waukegan, IL with Fr. Dennis Zalecki officiating. A private inurnment will take place at Warren Cemetery, Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, Gurnee.

He passed away at PeaceHealth St. Joseph hospital in Bellingham. He is survived by his wife, Rita; daughter Mary Pat Mitton (Robert); and three sons Michael (Erika), Christopher (Tina) and Mark (Wynne). He is also survived by three grandchildren, Catherine, Abigail and Arrow. David worked as a carpenter in Sitka, Alaska, until his retirement in 1993. Born and raised in South Dakota, he graduated high school in 1959 in Tioga, North Dakota. He moved to Omaha where he met Rita Haniszewski. They were married in 1962. Their daughter Mary Pat was born that year and the three of them moved to Sitka the following year. Michael was born shortly after the move to Sitka and Christopher was born in 1964. Mark followed four years later in 1968. David joined the carpenter’s union and worked at the Alaska Lumber and Pulp mill in Sitka until 1971 when he went to work for H&H Construction. With H&H he built many houses, remodeled buildings, and generally reshaped the town of Sitka through the 1970s and 80s. In 1999 after his children moved away from Sitka, he and his wife Rita moved south to be closer to them and their grandchildren. Not wanting to do anything extreme, he moved only as far as Lynden.
