He is also survived by his brother, Paul (Marie) Lambert, of Burley, Idaho.Joe was preceded in death by his dear wife Elva; cherished sons, Gary and Gordon; sweet grandson, Christopher Johnson; and siblings, Ray, Robert and Mary.The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Burley LDS West Stake Center, 2420 Parke Ave., in Burley, with Bishop Kerry McMurray officiating. Day’s other son, Barry, has traveled from Cottonwood to be with Curtis and his sister, Jill, who both reside in Tucson. Alan said he plans to travel Sunday to Phoenix to be with his eldest sister, Sandra Day O’Connor.“She is very sad and upset about our family being disrupted in a manner such as this. Family is everything to Sandra, it always has been,” Alan Day said. “It will be nice if we were together, rather than separated and lonely. We will be lonely for Ann but we’ll do it together.”Day remembered as 'dedicated public servant'Day, 77, served as a Republican state senator from 1990 to 2000 before she went on to represent Pima County’s District 1 until she retired in 2011.As county supervisor, Day was a strong advocate for conservation and land use, Alan Day said, noting the Sonoran Desert Conservation Plan as one of her greatest achievements.“Ann was a dedicated public servant and she always enjoyed not politics, but serving others," he said.In an e-mail to The Republic, former Arizona State University President Lattie Coor and his wife, Elva, said they remember Day for her effectiveness as a leader and her work in the community."We remember her for her passion for logical development, preserving open spaces, and how she worked across party lines to get things done for Arizona -- a much admired trait that is much needed today," said Elva Coor. "She was the kind of person you wanted to present the public interest. Class.On November 24, 1947, he was united in marriage to Camilla Hunke at St. Boniface Catholic Church-Monterey. Norbert was engaged in farming until his retirement in 1980. The couple moved to Cottonwood, AZ, where he was a member of the Elk’s organization. In 2004, Norbert suffered his first stroke and they returned to West Point in 2007.Norbert was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, American Legion Post #70, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4912, Knights of Columbus Council #2272, and Catholic Order of Foresters. He and Camilla enjoyed traveling and took many trips over seas. Norbert enjoyed watching all sports and completing crossword puzzles.Norb is survived by his wife Camilla of West Point, brothers Vic and wife Irene of Council Bluffs, IA, Florin and wife Sally of Loveland, CO, Virgil of West Point, and Edwin and Lorraine of West Point; sisters in law-Marie Kampschneider of Dodge, Luetta Evert of West Point, Bernice Johnson of Enid, OK, and Lorraine Hunke of Ft. Ryan Shakespear, 42, of Cedar City, was last heard from via radio about 6:30 p.m. Monday, according to a news release from Kane County Sheriff's Office. He had been hunting near Wahweap Wash off of Cottonwood Canyon Road — an area with which he was familiar.His family, worried about heavy rains passing through, searched the area; they called police about 1:15 a.m. Tuesday to report Shakespear overdue.Crews, aided by a helicopter, attempted to locate Shakespeare later in the morning. During the search, family members came across Shakespear's body at the bottom of a cliff."It appears he had lost his footing," the release states, and fallen about 150 feet.Shakespear's body was transported to the state medical examiner's office for further investigation.ctanner@sltrib.com Twitter: @CourtneyLTanner
