In the early 1990s they found Clayton, Georgia and fell in love with the dramatic beauty of the area.They loved to watch the seasons change on the mountainside across from their home in the woods. Joseph was born to Philip Kneer and Theresa (nee Ballings) Kneer in Astoria. He was a gifted mechanic, who grew up working in his dad’s Auto Repair shop. He owned Joe’s Auto Repair in New York and was the owner of Small Motor Repairs in Clayton. Joseph served in the Navy in the 1960s on the U.S.S. Shangri-La. He was generous, kind, and devoted to his wife and daughters, and also to his customers, who knew that he could fix anything. Joseph is survived by his brother, Philip G. Kneer of Bay Shore. He was predeceased by his parents.Phyllis was born to Alexander Stadtmiller and Agnes (nee Moran) Stadtmiller in Central Islip. She had a doctorate degree in education and taught 5th grade for 20 years in the Smithtown Central School District. She later taught education at San Diego State University. Phyllis was a talented artist and was a member of the Rabun County Artists Guild. She was an excellent cook, and her paintings and recipes are cherished by her daughters. Cubic Corporationhe was assigned as a civilian to military bases in Canada, Sardinia, Italy, England and the Netherlands from the home base in San Diego, CA.In 1959, Julius and Wynona Lee Foy of Escondido, CA were married in Norwalk, CA . Deciding to help Julius’ father farm, Julius moved his family to the farm for the next 12 years. After that, Escondido, CA became the family home base until Julius’ retirement in 1993 when he and Wynona returned to the family farm – a long time dream fulfilled.The loving and close-knit family Julius left are: Spouse: Wynona (Foy) Behling, daughters:Lana (Mike) Wolford, Diane (Eric) Wright, and son: Robert (Stefani) Behling. Seven grandsons:Michael “M.C.”(Hannah) Wolford; Matthew (Bailey) Wolford; E. Keegan Wright; Caleb Wright, Samuel Wright and Henry Wright; Zachary Behling.Siblings: Ewald (Margaret) Behling; Julie (Behling) Langevin, Lois (Behling) Glade; and Lydia (Behling) Lambrecht. Purdue University in Lafayette, Ind., with a bachelor’s of science degree in agronomy in 1962.        David Corbin HarmonDave started his career as a golf course construction superintendent in Escondido, Calif., working for architect Jack Snyder of Arizona. He then moved to Suffolk, Va., to construct Cedar Point Golf Club, where he stayed on as the golf course superintendent for seven years.In 1970, he and his family moved to Williamsburg, Va., where he became the director of recreational activities for Colonial Williamsburg and golf course superintendent of the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club. He was there for 21 years. He ended his career working for the City of Newport News as both golf course superintendent and landscape consultant, retiring in 2008.Dave was the winner of the 2012 Virginia Golf Course Superintendents  Association’s President’s Award for Lifetime Service. He was a GCSAA member for 51 years. He won the Leo Feser Award for writing editorials for Golf Course Management magazine. He was a founder of the Old Dominion GCSA.Dave enjoyed his church family at Wellspring United Methodist Church, camping with First Virginia Good Sam and traveling.He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary (Linenburger) Harmon; two children, Karla Donn Finkenauer (Peter) and son, David Jeffery Harmon (Noelle); five grandchildren, Courtney and Blake Finkenauer and Corbin, Noah and Katie Harmon; sister, Sue Handley; and three nieces.A memorial service, with the Rev.
