ATLANTA, GA -- The Atlanta Public Schools music teacher who was stabbed to death almost two weeks ago in Sandy Springs was laid to rest Tuesday in Kentucky.The funeral service for William "Bill" Haynes, 53, was held at 11 a.m. Dec. 27 at J.C. Kirby Funeral Chapel in Bowling Green, Kentucky, according to his obituary.Haynes taught music at E. Rivers Elementary School on Peachtree Battle Avenue. Students and faculty will gather to send condolences via cards to Haynes' mother in Kentucky, the school said in a Facebook post."Mr. Haynes came to us from Fulton County Schools and has been a part of the Rivers staff family for 16 months," Atlanta Public Schools spokeswoman Pat Stclaire said when news of his death reached the school. "This loss touches all of our students and staff, as Mr. Haynes taught music and drama for grades kindergarten through fifth.
