Warren CowlesSubmitted photo The funeral for Cowles will be 11 a.m. at Curran Funeral Home, 109 Main St., West Springfield. Burial is to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Westfield.The New England chapter of the American Public Works Association said that chapter members and DPW crews from severla communities will take part in the motorcade to honor Cowles. Participants will be dressed in florescent yellow safety gear."We will line the streets with public works employees dressed in their yellow safety jackets and provide a fleet of trucks to follow the funeral procession as a tribute to Warren and his family," said Needham Public Works Director, Richard Merson, past president of the New England chapter of the American Public Works Association (NEAPWA).  Cowles, 59, of Longmeadow was killed March 14 in a collision between his snowplow and an Amtrak train on Birnie Road. Cowles was plowing the road at the time and he backed into the path of the oncoming train.

Saturday, March 11 at 1:00 p.m. sharp with thousands of marchers and spectators gathering to celebrate the patron saint of Ireland.This year’s Grand Marshal, Joe Nolan of Westfield, will lead the march of bagpipe and high school bands, local police and fire department units, veterans groups and many more organizations through the center of Union.“I am excited to be a part of this parade and all that it stands for year after year. This parade is about tradition and family.” Nolan said. “It’s a great day for the Irish and Union County.”Nolan, a well-known traffic reporter on radio and TV in the New York metro area since 1979, has been involved with the Union County St. Patrick's Day Parade for several years. WESTFIELD, Mass. Theodore R. Dickson, 73, passed away on Jan. 12, 2017, at Holyoke Medical Center. He was born in Deadwood, SD, to the late James U. and Ruby (Larson) Dickson.He was a graduate of the University of South Dakota, was a former criminal investigator for the State of South Dakota, was Chief of Police in Sturgis, SD, and worked as a general contractor in South Dakota and Massachusetts.Tedd served his country with the United States Navy during Vietnam from 1962-1968 aboard a nuclear submarine. He attained the rank of Machinists Mate 2nd class and received the Vietnam Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal. Because of his proud service, Tedd spent the last couple years at the Soldiers Home of Holyoke, keeping busy with art classes and photography and serving on the Advocacy Council. His family would like to thank the staff and nurses for the special care and support given to Tedd and his family. He was a member of Kiwanis, VFW Post 124 and the American Legion 454.Te...

Clifford played Rugby and Lacrosse and was an avid surfer.Surviving are his wife, Stephanie Monaco of Westfield; his parents, Jack and TD Albertson of Eatontown; his sister, Krissy Meyer of Long Branch, 2 nieces, Zia and Lexi and his best buddy Elvis. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 7 from 4-8 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave. (corner of Third Ave.) in Long Branch. Funeral Saturday 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by an 11 am Mass at St. Dorothea’s Church in Eatontown. Entombment will be at Woodbine Mausoleum in Oceanport.
