Earl was the retired owner of B&E Auto Parts and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII. He was also an avid domino player and gardener.Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Cory Williams and the Rev. Annetta Camp officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.The Gatlin Family received visitors from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Dyersburg Funeral Home. Survivors include his daughter, Beverly K. Fowlkes (Danny), of Dyersburg; five grandchildren, Robert Gatlin of Little Rock, AR, Richard Gatlin (Tina) of Newbern, Karen Gatlin and Dan Fowlkes (Tyla) all of Dyersburg and Brad Gatlin (Chrissy) of Siloam Springs, AR; eight great-grandchildren, Zach Mullins, Morgan Reasons, Matt Gatlin, Gage Gatlin, Anna Gatlin, Will Fowlkes, Case Gatlin and Abby Gatlin; a very special friend and dance partner, Martha Davis of Halls; a daughter-in-law, Wendy Gatlin of Dyersburg; and a daughter-in-law, who he considered as his own, Barbara Gatlin of Dyersburg.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 54 years, Ruby Swafford Gatlin; his second wife, Mary Stutts Gatlin; two sons, Ricky Lynn Gatlin and Earl S. “Duke” Gatlin; a sister, Margaret Gatlin Boyd; and four brothers, Cecil D.
