The Old Man” was a loving Father, Grandfather (Pops or Papa) and friend. He had a lifelong love for drag racing and for his ’67 Camaro which was his prized possession. He was an Elvis fanatic and Graceland was his favorite place to be. He loved being with family, watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they were the absolute joy of his life.He is survived by his son: Gary Bruce Strawn Jr. and his wife, Wendy of Joshua, TX; daughter: Tobi L. Shepherd-Strawn and her wife, Ann of Henderson, NV; seven grandchildren: Cody Burns and his wife, Courtney, Taylor Thomas and her fiancé, Keegan Ivins, Savannah Shepherd, Shelby Strawn, Sydnie Strawn, Madison Thomas and Shyanne Strawn; two great-grandchildren: Bentley Burns and Adalyn Ivins; sister, Susan McGinty and her husband, David; along with numerous other loving family and friends.

He married Sue Walker in August of 1965 and together they have three children: Philip Crome (Julie) of Elizabeth, IL, Aaron Crome (Mary) of Marshall, Illinois and Sara Jones of Champaign, Illinois. Richard is also survived by an adopted son, Jaime Ortiz (Jasmine) of Hawaii, a sister, Ruth Ann Michels of Mohill, North Dakota, a sister-in-law, Mrs. Keith (Helen) Crome of Albion; 7 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; nieces and nephews, and a host of close friends. Cox on November 14, 1938 in Clinton. He preceded her in death on August 23, 1987 in Decatur. She was also preceded in death by one sister and six brothers.She is survived by her daughters, Betty Lou Sturgis, Sandra (Rex) Perry and JoAnn (Tim) Ulland, all of Decatur; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and one on the way; and two great-great grandchildren.Betty was a volunteer at Decatur Memorial Hospital and at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was a "cradle roll" member of St. Paul's Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Stephen Decatur High School class of 1946. Lisle attended college at Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. He married Margaret J. Jones on June 4, 1949. She preceded him in death on May 18, 2011. He served for six years in the Illinois Army National Guard, and then for four years in the United States Air Force, where he served in the Korean War. Lisle worked for many years as a salesman for Sears & Roebuck, and Company. He also worked for the Office of the Illinois Secretary of State, and for Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Homes. He was a former member of the Macon County Board, former President of Decatur Township Cemeteries, former President of Macon County Mosquito Abatement District and former Republican Precinct Committeeman. She was 80.Over the course of five decades, Phyllis and her husband, Charles “Charlie” Frias transformed a small cab company into the largest transportation company in the state — Frias Transportation Management. The company includes five taxicab companies, a limousine company and an airport shuttle company, and employs more than 2,500 employees, according to her attorney, John Mowbray.Together, the couple supported many charities and community programs and in 2003 an elementary school was named after the couple to honor their philanthropy: Charles and Phyllis Frias Elementary School.‘LEGISLATOR FOR THE LITTLE GUY’Former state lawmaker Tom Hickey, who served 22 years as a Democrat and labor supporter in the Assembly and Senate from North Las Vegas, died Oct. 18 of a heart-related condition.
