Baltimore native and former NFL defensive back Keion Carpenter.AdvertisementA public viewing is set for 12 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Wylie Funeral Home, located at 9200 Liberty Road in Randallstown.Carpenter’s funeral is set for 11 a.m. Monday at New Psalmist Baptist Church, located at 6020 Marian Drive in Baltimore.There will also be a memorial vigil hosted by the Shutdown Academy at 3 p.m. Saturday at Hanlon Park, located at 2400 Longwood Street.Carpenter, 39, died last week while on vacation in Miami. The Woodlawn High School graduate went on to play college football at Virginia Tech before playing six years in the NFL with the Buffalo Bills and Atlanta Falcons.After his playing career, Carpenter remained very active in the community and was involved in many outreach events for Baltimore youth.

Rouse Co. executive who was the company's first African-American female mall manager, died of cancer Aug. 15 at Warm Heart Family Assisted Living in Germantown, Montgomery County.The longtime Randallstown resident was 73."I knew Marian from the time when she became the general manager of Mondawmin Mall and I was president of the mall's merchants' association," said Baltimore City Councilman Carl Stokes who owned and operated Everyman's Son at the mall from 1978 to 1983."We always had good relations. She was a tough administrator but always fair. You could always have a conversation with her, whether it was about my business or the merchants I represented," Mr. Stokes said. "She was always very professional and never unkind.""Marian was one of the most exceptional people I have ever met," said Anthony T.
