They had just released balloons for a birthday party, the birthday girl there only in photos.Twenty-two year-old Jalisa Walls-Harris died last March. Prince George’s County Police say it was a domestic violence shooting committed by a man Walls-Harris wasn’t in a relationship with. Her half-sister was.Before Saturday, Jalisa’s mother tells us domestic violence was a topic she didn’t touch.“At first when it happened, I didn’t have an opinion about it because that’s not my world, that’s not Jalisa’s world. I taught my daughters to be strong,” said LaShawn Harris.Saturday, the mother of six described her third oldest as a musically talented and loving spirit.“She just saw the good in everybody no matter what,” said Harris.At the other victim’s funeral, family remembered Tareeka Jones’ as a mother dedicated to her children.A court spokesperson said there was a recent documented history of domestic violence between Jones and the father of her child. She reportedly bailed out the suspect just days before the shooting, even though police arrested him for assaulting and threatening her with a gun.
