June. Then again, safety is the most important consideration.***Though many things were canceled over the weekend, one very sad but very special Celebration of the Life of Douglas F. MacLean of Marblehead still went on Saturday at the Old North Church in Marblehead.Newcomers to that church, like me, were awed at the size of this historic Congregational church. The sanctuary has three complete sections, each one almost as large as the interior of many churches.The reason I’m telling you this is because every seat on the entry level was completely filled. There is an upstairs, as well, which is where our Danvers foursome of Alan Hartnett, Larry Crowley, Kay Maurice, and I who all knew Malcolm, the father, well as a fellow Kiwanian.We also recalled meeting Doug and his kids many times at a Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast when his dad was one of the volunteers.We were fortunate to get four seats together before they completely filled and barred others from going up. In the basement, there was also a full house with standing room only. Those on the lowest level watched the service via closed circ...

She also leaves her beloved sister Barbara Brennan Schaefer of Houston, her sisters-in-law, Joan Brennan of Beacon Falls and Mary Leonard of Marblehead, MA, along with many adored and loved nieces and nephews with whom she shared many travel and theatre adventures. Margery also leaves her dear friends, Semina DeLaurentis, Ruth Gaylord and Natalie Mitchinson who provided much love and support over many years. In addition to her husband and parents, Margery was predeceased by her son, Richard and her brothers, Roger and Franklyn. Margery’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff and administration of River Glen Health Care Center of Southbury, for their loving, professional care over the last several months.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 16, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, 25 Maple Avenue, Beacon Falls, followed by burial in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Friends are asked to please meet directly at the Church. Giarrusso, who stood by his side as his dedicated caregiver during a lengthy 15-year battle with Parkinson’s disease. He is also survived by his older brother Vincent Giarrusso and wife Janet of Marblehead, and former wife Suzanne FitzGerald of Bar Harbor, Maine.He raised seven kids in Hingham. He is survived by his son Roy and his wife Kristen of Hingham, Julie Veilleux and her husband Greg of Bar Harbor, Maine, Mark of Hingham, Maria Metters of Vineyard Haven, Tom of San Francisco, Calif., Dave and his wife Suzanne of Verona, N.J., and Brandi Pollock and her husband Tim of Los Angeles, Calif. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, of whom he was extremely proud.He was most recently a resident of Sunrise Assisted Living in Cohasset, where he received the loving care that he needed. His family would like to thank the staff of Sunrise for the love that they continuously showed Bill.A celebration of life service was held in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald Street (off Central Street), Hingham, prior to the funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church.
