Norwegian heritage was evident to everyone that knew him.James is survived by his wife, Vicki Hovre of Ettrick; two sons, Timothy (fiancée, Darla Tyznik) Hovre of Marshfield and John Hovre of Ettrick; a son-in-law, Randy (Linda) Holthaus of Bangor; three stepchildren, Kevin and Jason Kittleson both of Caledonia, Minn. and Karmen (Paul) Haugland of Spring Grove, Minn.; nine grandchildren, Megan Hovre, Ross (fiancée, Kayla Leis) Holtaus, Reed Holthaus, Rachel (fiance,`Ryan Allen) Holthaus, Ranae (Tyler) Herman, Jessica (Matt) Hesse, Erik Haugland, Kristin (Shane) O’Brien, Laura Kittleson and John Kittleson; and five great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents and first wife, James was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Holthaus; and a son, James E. Hovre.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, in the French Creek Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery both in rural Ettrick. Pastor Anna Sorenson will officiate.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 12, in the French Creek Lutheran Church in rural Ettrick and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.The Jack Funeral Home in Blair is assisting the family with arrangements.

Joseph J. Bilgrien, 80, passed away surrounded by his loving family March 9, 2017.He was born Nov. 22, 1936, to the late Earl and Marie (nee Seubert) Bilgrien, in Marshfield, Wis. Joseph grew up in Marshfield and attended St. John’s Catholic School. He attended Holy Cross Seminary. Joseph then went on to receive his master’s degree in psychology from the University of Detroit. He served three years and nine months in the Air Force; one of those years was served in Vietnam. Joseph received the Air Force Commendation Medal for working with orphans.On May 28, 1966, he was ordained as a priest; he was called to serve at St. Joe’s Catholic Church of Menomonee, Wis., St. Stephen’s Church in Stevens Point, Wis., St. Mary’s Church of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., and St. Lawrence Church of Wisconsin Rapids. He was also the Family Life Director for the Diocese of La Crosse, Wis., and co-founded the Family Center Inc., in Wisconsin Rapids for abused women and children.On November 6h, 1988, Joseph married the love of his life, Rosemary Czappa and they had 28 beautiful years together. Joseph worked as a psychotherapist for the University of Minnesota Medical Cent...

Thorny Lea Golf Club and enjoyed traveling to Sanibel Island, Florida; to Bermuda and the Bahamas. His greatest joy in retirement was spent at his sister's beach home in Ocean Bluff, Marshfield where he enjoyed cultivating his marigolds in her front gardens and the time he spent fishing with his brother George.His wife, Rosemarie (Sullivan) Sites, died in 1983. His sister, Katherine (Sites) Oldham, died in 2013. He is survived by his children, Michael G. Sites and his wife Kathleen Flaherty Sites of Mattapoisett, formerly of North Easton; his daughter Jo-Anne Sites Lombardo and her husband John Lombardo of East Taunton; his brother J. George Sites of Brockton; his nephew John G. Sites of Pembroke; his nieces Heather Brooke Sites and Jessica Leigh Sites, both of Pembroke; his nephew Stephen Sites of Berkley, California; his niece Susan Barca and her husband Joseph Barca of Mansfield; and his nephew Brendon Barca and his niece Alexandra Barca, both of Mansfield.His funeral will be held at St. Anthony Parish, 22 Barstow St., Mattapoisett on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 10 a.m. Calling hours will be at Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (Route 138), Brockton, on Friday Feb. 17 from 3-6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Mr. Sites' name be made to the Brockton Educational Foundation, c/o Brockton Public Schools, 43 Crescent St., Brockton, MA 02303; to St. Anthony's Building Fund, P.O. Box 501, Mattapoisett, MA 02739; or to any charity of your choice.
