John "Charlie" CharlesTemple, 73, of Crozet and previously of Staunton, passed away at his residence on Saturday, March 25, 2017, after a long battle with cancer. Born July 27, 1943, in Darby, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late John Carlisle Temple Jr. and Ethelyn (Pierce) Temple. Charlie graduated from Wilson Memorial H.S., Woodrow Wilson Vo. Tech School, and Richmond Professional Institute (VCU). He was employed by General Electric Co. / G.E. Fanuc and retired after 37 years of service. His career with GE covered locations in Waynesboro, Richmond, and Charlottesville. Charlie followed his favorite sports teams which included the Washington Redskins, Washington Nationals, UVA and VCU. His favorite car music was vintage Rock, Motown/R&B. He is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart, Carolyn Jean (Weaver) Temple of Crozet. They shared a blessed union of 51 years together. In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Alison A. (Temple) Moore and husband, "Zeke" Michael Moore of Fredericksburg; son, Michael R. She had previously worked at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro for many years, and also as a title examiner in the City of Taunton.Since living in Marion, Karen was a member of the Council on Aging, where she made many friends and enjoyed the council's hospitality of shopping trips.Karen loved spending time with her family and received so much pleasure doing jigsaw puzzles with her adoring grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading and cooking, and when younger, the many summers spent in Popponesset.She is survived by her devoted children: Stephen Prevett of Georgia, Denise Prevett of Everett, Patricia Marraffa and her husband Tony of Mattapoisett, and John Prevett and his wife Karen of Mansfield. She was the dear sister of Kenneth Grew of Grafton, Gail Taddeo of Florida, and Steven Grew of North Carolina.
