If you want to grow it in your garden, grow it in a large pot or barrel or in an area off by itself. It is easy to grow from seeds. With breeding and selection, perhaps this interesting plant will one day become a domesticated food crop and assume a place of honor along with corn, pecans, muscadines and other New World offerings. If you have questions about services or products regulated by the Georgia Department of Agriculture, write Arty Schronce at arty.schronce@agr.georgia.gov.
