Debra Phillips of Lincoln, Neb.In 1968, in Sedalia, he married Wanda Lewis, who resides of the home. Children are Linda Williams and husband Doug of Lebanon, Michael Barber of Lebanon, Donna Hendrickson of Spearman, Texas, Lori McCullough and husband David of Sedalia, David Sorrell and wife Deann of Columbia and Scott Sorrell and wife Missy of Rolla.Al lived many years in Monroe City where he worked at a hotel before he went to work for the Henderson Produce Company where he became plant manager.While working at Henderson’s, Al was drafted into the Army. He served his country honorably in the United States Army and was trained as a surgical technician and served in a medical unit for the 192nd Ordnance Battalion. He served in the South Pacific during the Second World War including the Battle of Okinawa. Al was the last surviving veteran of the company with whom he served.After the war, Al returned to his work at Henderson’s until he moved to Sedalia in 1965 where he worked for MFA, Swift and Company, and Central States Tool and Engine. Al worked at Central States until his full retirement in 1994.In his spare time, Al enjoyed working on cars and small engines, particularly lawn mowers. He called himself a “neighborhood mechanic” but others often referred to him as “Mr. Fix-It” because it seemed like he could repair just about anything.One of Al’s favorite roles in life was that of “Papa ‘Rel.” He was a beloved grandfather and was even called Papa ‘Rel by his grandchildren’s friends.He is also survived by his grandchildren, Lucas Koch, Lance Koch, Kady Roberts, Lori Sorrell, Justin Sorrell, Lacey Belt, Shelby Teeter, Andrew Sorrell, Dana Kizzier, Jamie Malone, Lisa Shubert, India McCullough, Paige Reque, Kearn McCullough, Abbey Sorrell, Jack Sorrell, ...

A skill in perfecting repairs plus expertise in public relations made him a customer favourite at four Stouffville hardware stores — Agnew’s Hardware, (J.K. Agnew); Crest Hardware, (Reg Stouffer); Hendricks Hardware, (Cec Hendricks) and Card’s Hardware, (Graydon Card). At the conclusion of 50 years’ dutiful employment he was presented with a coveted gold hammer by the Canadian Hardware Association. Following retirement, boating and fishing were favourite pastimes. For Don, wife Marian was the light of his life. They were married in 1951 and lived to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary. His family too were subjects of much pride and joy — son Barry and daughter-in-law Laurie, Oshawa; daughter Sharon, Stouffville; grandchildren Jeremy, Katie, Nicholas and the recent arrival of a great-grandson; sister Helen (Dyck), Gormley; sister-in-law Dorothy Doner; brother-in-law Harrison Schlicter, Parkview Home and close friend Faye Christensen also of Parkview. Hundreds attended Sunday’s visitation at the O’Neill Funeral Home and Monday’s funeral conducted by pastor Tim Soukup at EastRidge Evangelical Missionary Church where  Don had earlier served as  leader of the boys’ brigade and head usher. Total ViewsDonnie Lee Moore, age 77 years, a resident of Hendricks, WV departed this life early Friday morning, January 13, 2017 at the United Hospital Center at Bridgeport, WV.  He had been in declining health since suffering a heart attack in December of 2016, although death was unexpected. He was born Wednesday, July 12, 1939 at St. George, WV, a son of the late Jesse Reed and Hester Loretta Moore.  On June 9, 1962 at Washington, DC, he was married to the former Margaret “Tootsie” Sobrito, who preceded him in death October 24, 2003.  They had celebrated forty-three years of marriage. Surviving are two sons, Paul Kenneth Moore of Bowie, MD, Randy Moore and wife Kelly of Myrtle Beach, SC; one daughter, Cheryl Ann Burneskis and husband Curt of Bowie, MD; one brother, Okey Ray Moore and wife Mary of Parsons; one sister, Wilma Carol Pascale of Davidsonville, MD; three grandchildren, Patrick Kenneth Moore, Nicholas Steven Burneskis, and Katelyn Marie Burneskis; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death is one sister, Carolyn Faye A...
