Wurzburg, Germany.In 1946, Marianne was united in marriage to Lawrence Morse in Wurzburg, Germany. She moved to the United States in 1948, to a farm near Redwood Falls. They then moved to Morgan and then to Hutchinson in 1955. This marriage was blessed with four children, Marion, Lawrence Jr., Patricia and Chuck.Marianne learned to speak four different languages, German, French, English and Latin. During the war, she worked as an English translator for the US Corp of Engineers in Germany. In addition, she helped at her father’s bookstore and worked as a book binder. After moving to the United States, she worked at Burns Manor and was later employed at Hutchinson Health (formerly Hutchinson Community Hospital) in Hutchinson. She retired in 1988. She continued to work part-time until 1993.Marianne enjoyed fishing, reading, knitting and crocheting. She knitted many prayer shawls for the Congregational church in Hutchinson. Marianne also enjoyed going to lunch with her friends and camping with her daughter, Marion, at her lake home on the weekends.
