He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends, and was the hunt master and honorary lifetime member with the Pine Barren Hunt Club in Ridgeland. Monday, July 11, 2016Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah, according to Jasper County, S.C., Coroner Martin Sauls.The wreck occurred about 4:30 a.m. Wednesday on S.C. Highway 336 outside Ridgeland, S.C., the coroner said.Mueller’s 2012 BMW ran off the roadway and hit a tree, he said. There were no passengers in the vehicle, he said.“From what I was told, she was on the way from Athens to Hilton Head to visit her mother,” he said.The S.C. Highway Patrol is still investigating the cause of the wreck, a patrol spokesman said.Mueller, the wife of Eric Mueller, a professor in the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, opened Good Hands on Daniells Bridge Road in Oconee County in 2001, according to her website.The news of her death was met with shock by her customers and colleagues in the business of caring for animals.“She was a shining example of a veterinarian. She was one of the strongest women I have ever met,” Good Hands Office Manager Mark Allen said Thursday.“She was compassionate and caring, an incredible woman who did a lot for the community, her employees and her clients — and the patients as well,” Allen said.“Dr. Kucher was a very devoted mother to her sons Kurt and Kyle, and a beloved member of the Athens community.
