Friday, June 16, 2017, at Watsontown Health & Rehab, at the age 80.She was born Sept. 9, 1936, in Milton. She was the daughter of the late Frances (Emery) King and the late John Elwood King. She was the eldest of eight children.She graduated from Milton Area High School in 1954.On Oct. 16, 1954, Betty married the late Charles (Charlie) H. Reiner. They had three children, Edward, Susan and Jeffrey. Betty was a devoted homemaker and was well known for her skill as a home baker. She enjoyed embroidery and word find puzzles.She worked alongside her husband in the family grocery store, Milton Food Rite, in the Milton Southgate Plaza. The store closed in the early 1980s, which is when Betty began working at the RiverWoods Nursing Home, Lewisburg. She worked there for many years until she retired. At that time, she worked part-time alongside her husband in the family hardware business, Bee Cee Pro-Hardware, in Watsontown. She also worked part-time as a caregiver for Home Instead in recent years.She is survived by her children, Edward (Jane) Reiner of Oak Park, Calif., Sue Cain of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Jeffrey (Janet) Reiner of Omaha, Neb.; four grandchildren and their spouses, Dr. Benjamin C. Opal was born in Yadkin County and was preceded in death by her parents, Robert George Angell and Leona Elizabeth Spainhour Angell. Also preceding her in death were her first husband Elwood Groce, and later her husband Colon Beeson, brother Guyion Angell, and sister Reba Tuttle. Opal is survived by her only son George William Groce and Sylvia of Kernersville; grandchildren Ginger Groce and Robin of Oak Ridge and Jeff Groce and Bonnie of Kernersville; great-grandchildren William Groce and Kimberly of Kernersville and Anna Groce of Kernersville; great-great grand-daughters Chloe and Lilly Groce; brothers Nelson Angell and Earlene and Oliver Angell and Carol. Opal was retired from Adam-Millis. She spent her free time sewing, gardening and travelling in her later years. Sylvia and Ginger were the recipients of many of her custom made dresses for special holidays. Kimberly Groce has been Opal's great-granddaughter, companion and caregiver for many years. We will never be able to thank her enough for her love and fierce dedication. The family would like to especially thank her doctor, Dr. Aaron Boals and his nurse Stacie Hackler. He is survived by his parents, Clinton Elwood Spencer Jr. and Judy Shifflett Spencer of Madison; his aunt, Brenda Neofotis and husband Nick of Charlottesville; and their sons, Mark Neofotis of Harrisonburg, Chris Neofotis of Centreville; his uncle, Ronald Allen Spencer and wife Donna of Troy and their children, Ron Spencer and wife Kelly of Gordonsville, and Greg Spencer and wife Tonya of Keswick. He dearly loved a very special 11 year old young lady named Talia. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2017, at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison with interment in Holly Memorial Gardens. The Rev.
