He was 69.Rod was raised in Scotch Plains NJ, and later moved to Beachwood to raise his family, finally settling in Lanoka Harbor, where he has enjoyed 12 years on his beloved Barnegat Bay. He attended Scotch Plains High School where he was a member of the wrestling team. He later attended attended the New York Institute of Technology where he attained his bachelor's degree in psychology. Rodney began his selling commercial printing equipment at SS Studios in Union, NJ, before moving on to Fuji Seal, Van Dam Machine Corp., and finally Polytype America. He was a member of the Shore Acres Yacht Club in Brick and more recently the Toms River Yacht Club. Rod was an avid paddler, sailor, backgammon player, nature lover, music enthusiast and golfer. Most importantly, Rod was a kind, gentle and generous man who was positively dedicated to his family. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by everyone who was lucky enough to have known him. Rodney has been predeceased by his wife Linda, and parents, Albert and Jane Brynildsen. Rodney is survived by his children, Erik Brynildsen (wife Claudia, their children Hannah and Lukas), daughter Lisa Brynildsen (her children Myles and Mia Bella Lynch), sister Gayle Salis...
