A 24-year-old Bayville native died Wednesday when he fell from the domed roof of a building at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, according to numerous reports.The "Great Dome" atop the Barker Engineering Library on the campus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Mass. Nicholas Paggi, a 24-year-old 2015 graduate of the university, died Wednesday after he fell from the dome, according to reports. Courtesy of Ryan Funeral Home:Harold W. Groshon, 87, of Bayville died on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016 at his home. Affectionately known as"'Chub" and "Pop-pop," he was born on November 4, 1928 in Teaneck, NJ. As a young man Harold was an All-State Basketball player at Fort Lee High School, leading his team to win the 1946 State Championship. Harold proudly served his country in the US Navy, owned and operated Continental Alarm Co. in Bergenfield. He served as past president and was named man of the year for the Fort Lee Chamber of Commerce. Harold was extremely proud to be the Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop 139 in Bergenfield. He loved the outdoors, was an avid hunter and looked forward to his trips to Maine every fall. He found purpose in doing small deeds for others that brought much joy to their lives. He will truly be missed.Harold is predeceased by his wife Irene Groshon and daughter Sharon O'Leary. Daniella Penta and her husband Victor Wymbs of Oakhurst, Gabriella Heizler and her husband Gregory of Island Heights; 2 brothers, Mario Penta of Colliano, Italy, Leonardo Penta of Bayville; a sister Maria DeVito and her husband Dario of West Long Branch; a brother-in-law, Leonard Kroen and his wife Jill of Pinehurst, NC; and 3 grandchildren, Landon Franco Penta, Max William Heizler and Mia Annabelle Heizler. Franco considered all of his customers to be an extension of his beloved family, especially all of the police officers and firemen he considered friends. He loved Monmouth Park Racetrack, Fiorentina soccer and his walks on the Long Branch boardwalk. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. They always brought a special twinkle to his eye, a hop to his step, and a smile to his face.Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 8, from 4-8 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., (corner of Third Ave.,) in Long Branch. Funeral, Thursday, 9 am at the funeral home followed by a 10 am Mass at Star of the Sea Church in Long Branch. Entombment will be at Woodbine Mausoleum in Oceanport.
