United States Navy veteran, and retired as a maintenance supervisor with Virginia Tech. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard L. Roberts, Sr. and Vivian Johnson Roberts, and his sister, Elizabeth Claire Roberts.Survivors include his brothers, Howard L. Roberts, Jr. and wife Teresa, James McDuffy Roberts and wife Sharon, and Dennis Noble Roberts and wife Virginia; numerous nieces and nephews, and his special furry friends, Trixie and Annie.John’s wishes were to be cremated with no services. Fred was an integral part in the building of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, and the street is named for him. Fred took great pride in his accomplished life, but his greatest love was his marriage to Peggy and his children and grandchildren. Swiderski, died peacefully on Thursday June 1, 2017 at Middlebury Convalescent Home.Mrs. Swiderski was born on June 2, 1926 in Scranton, PA a daughter of the late Michael and Pauline (Yelega) Magas and had worked for many years as an office manager for Dr. Brennan. Betty is survived by her daughter, Lorene Terry and her husband Al; her sons, Richard Swiderski and his wife Sandra and Roger Swiderski and his wife Leslie; her brother, Raymond Magas; her sisters, Jane LeBlanc, Elaine Tedesco and Helena Alegi and her husband John; her grandchildren, Al Terry, Jr., Michael Terry, Kate Jefferson, Matt Terry and Carrie Swiderski; her great grandchildren, Dylan, Julia, Alaina, Olivia, Freya and Thor; her sisters in law, Helen Magas and Eleanor Magas and many nieces and nephews. Virginia Kulow Martin, (deceased) in 1949. He is survived by his children, Andy (Marla) and Lori De Witt (John), his grandsons, Seth (Brittany) and Jeremy and two sisters, Marian Slavens and Elizabeth Watson. His heart failed on June 12, 2017. Art was a retired Navy Captain. He was an active member of Catalina United Methodist and sang in the choir for over 50 years. He also served on the board of the Ott YMCA. He will be sorely missed. Services will be held on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at 4:30 p.m. at Catalina United Methodist Church with reception to follow.
