George J. Danco, Jr., 70, of Florham Park, died Monday, July 25, 2016, in Morristown.He was the son of George and Isabel Danco of Summit, and is survived by his brothers, Michael M. Danco of South Carolina and Dr. Jeffrey C. Danco of Bridgewater Township, as well as his sisters-in-law Patricia and Jayne and nephews Michael, Joshua, James and Kevin and niece Jessi.He was graduated from Park University in Missouri. Mr. Danco served as the public information officer for the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs and Division on Civil Rights from 1982 to 1990 under Governor Tom Kean. He was employed by the Daily Record newspaper as a reporter and copy editor and went on to work for the Recorder Publishing Company as an editor of the Echoes-Sentinel and Florham Park Eagle.“George was both a diligent and a beloved editor of the Florham Park Eagle for many years,” said Garry Herzog, the newspaper’s managing editor. “He had a great commitment to open and transparent government that was matched only by his love for the co...
