The Oceanside Fire Department is mourning the sudden loss of Fireman Keith Lane, who died last Saturday night from natural causes.Lane came from East Rockaway. He served in the East Rockaway Fire Department for 10 years, and was an Ex-Captain before joining Oceanside, where he served for 23 years.Lane was also a cameraman for Fox 5 TV in New York.“No one will ever know or appreciate the love Keith had for the fire service,” said JT Madden, Oceanside Fire Chief. “He did more behind the scenes to help promote the volunteer fire service and he always did so without looking for any credit and that’s really who Keith was. He was ready to help anyone and he led an amazing life, which ended way too early. He will be missed.”He was such a good guy on so many levels. His loss to the department is immeasurable, and I am going to really miss him as a friend, said First Assistant Chief Kevin Klein.A sister, Stacy Lane Navarra and daughter Tara Lane survive him.Services will be held at Gutterman’s Funeral Home in Rockville Centre on August 30, at 11 a.m., burial to follow at Cedar Park Cemetery in Paramus, New Jersey.Daughter Tara Lane will...
