Kestner stole a car after his escape but was captured within hours near Geneseo, Illinois.Kestner was serving time for robbing gas stations in Sioux City, Iowa, in 2009. A judge in February extended his original 20-year sentence by 15 years after Kestner pleaded guilty to the escape and vehicle theft.Sometime after the escape, Kestner was transferred to the penitentiary in Anamosa, Iowa. In October, authorities said that Kestner managed to get out of a health services room before he assaulted a correctional officer with a crude piece of metal. The officer suffered multiple contusions to the face that required medical treatment.Kestner, who had previously attacked guards in Fort Madison, was placed in segregation after that incident. But above all, God and family were most important in her life.Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Tom England in 1991.Surviving are three children, Melva (Mark Graham) England of Geneseo, Mitchel (Steve) Keepes-England of Champaign and Marla (Scott) England-Sullivan of Prior Lake, Minn.; six grandchildren, Bryce Graham, Jacklyn England, Catherine (Justin) Schwartz, Christian, Caitlyn and Caelen England-Sullivan; three great-grandchildren, Riley and Regan Schwartz and Sofie Diebold; six brothers and brothers-in-law, Norman (Nancy) Wheatley, Kenneth (Janice) Wheatley, Steven (Tina) Wheatley, Cecil England, Ralph (Wilma) England and Paul (Pam) England; one sister and two sisters-in-law, Lois Chapman, Mary (Curtis) England and Dorothy (Danny) Bratcher; and many nieces and nephews.A Celebration of her Life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, at Sunset's Champaign-Urbana Chapel at 710 N. Neil St. in Champaign. The Rev. Melva England and the Rev. Mark Graham will officiate. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Gardens. Christmas. Joyce loved her family. She was a quiet social butterfly, but always looked forward to the Lawrence Ladies Lunches, and get-togethers with classmates from Geneseo High School.Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Eugene of Rock Falls; a daughter, Carmen (Jason) Healy of Rock Falls; grandchildren, Rachel Carter of Georgia, Becky Carter of Iowa, Kyle Anderson of Rock Falls, and Timothy Harris of Arkansas; great-granddaughters, Allexxis Tavia and Emma of Georgia; two great-great grandsons; a sister, Sharon (Ronald) Olson of Prophetstown; two brothers, Ronald (Shirley) Roselieb and Gary Roselieb, both of Hooppole; a sister-in-law, Gloria Anderson of Sterling; and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Debbie Harris.Cremation rites have been accorded, and a private burial is planned, per Joyce’s wishes.
