Visiting Nurses before her illness. She loved working with senior citizens. She had a kind heart and loving heart and great sense of humor. On March 6, 2011 she married Manuel (Billy) Cardona in Port Chester, NY. She leaves behind her two children, Sofia (6 years old) and Bryan (3 years old). Also survived by her sister Meaghan, Uncle Steve Giamundo, Aunt Bernice Giamundo, Cousins Lauren and Steven Jr. and dear friend Ginny Bisconti.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday January 26, 2017 at 10am at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, Brewster, NY. Interment will follow at St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery, Brewster, NY. Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 25 4pm- 8pm at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY.In lieu of flowers the family wishes donations to be made to the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, 100 Woods Drive, Valhalla, NY. Toby Elizabeth Scala, of Summit, NY, formerly Putnam Lake, NY, died suddenly on October 30, 2016. She was 35 years old. Mrs. Scala was born on August 7, 1981 in Port Chester, NY, daughter of John and Ellen (Henefield) Nye, of Putnam Lake, NY. Toby graduated from Brewster High School. A few years after high school she moved to Jefferson, NY, where she met Timothy Scala. Her life changed from that moment on, she found her reason for life with Tim.On June 14, 2011 she married Timothy, shortly after their wedding they welcomed a daughter Riley. Riley was the world to Toby. She was complete with her husband and daughter.Toby woke up every day with a smile on her face. She enjoyed the outdoors, bird watching, gardening and crafts. Game night was a great time, she always beat everyone at scrabble. Toby’s life was her family, she was a wonderful wife, spectacular mother and an amazing daughter and sister. Besides her husband, daughter and parents, Toby is survived by her siblings; Chelsey Hobby and Jack Nye both of Putnam Lake, NY, SueEllen (Adam) Chandler of Georgia, Hannah Nye of Connecticut and Daniel (Sumiko) Nye of Japan.
