NEW MANCHESTER — “Breakfast with Santa” will take place 8-11 a.m. Saturday at the New Manchester Volunteer Fire Department. Cost is $5 per person. Bring a camera for pictures with Santa.n WELLSVILLE — Oak Ridge Presbyterian Church, located off state Route 39 on Oak Ridge Road, will serve a soup and sandwich meal 4-6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Eat-in or carryout. Menu includes soup, sandwich, dessert and beverage. Cost by donation. Soup by the quart also available.n EAST LIVERPOOL — East Liverpool High School Band Boosters is hosting a quarter auction and chinese raffle on Friday in the ELHS cafeteria. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the auction begins at 6:30. There is a $5 donation at the door, which includes a first paddle. Additional paddles are $2 each.n NEW CUMBERLAND — Swaney Memorial Library will hold its annual “Breakfast with Santa” 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the New Cumberland VFW. Cost is $3 per breakfast or the donation of a pair of gloves or mittens. Bring a camera to get pictures with Santa.n EAST LIVERPOOL — Bar Mill Retirees meet for breakfast 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at Maxi’s.n EAST LIVERPOOL — The Museum of Ceramics will host “Acoustic Night at the Museum” at 7 p.m. Thursday as Bob Walker and Gregg Harding perform original music and will entertain with cover songs.Doors open at 6 p.m. so visitors may have time to view the exhibits, including two new temporary exhibits “Resplendent Rockingham” and “Lovely Lotus Ware,” prior to the performance. Admission is $5 for this event. Free for Museum or OHC members.Both Walker and Harding are area songwriters and performers. They will perform several of Walker’s original songs, including “The Hot Dog Shop.”Walker has a private counseling practice in East Liverpool and is adjunct faculty of psychology at Kent State-East Liverpool.Harding is the lead singer of Bananafish and teaches at East Liverpool High School. Bananafish has a new CD of original songs, composed by Harding, that will be released soon. Dawn Rae (Platter) Pryce, 56, of Blairsville, passed away Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh.The daughter of Donald and Donna (Duty) Platter, she was born July 6, 1960, in Wellsville, W.Va.Dawn was part-owner and office manager of Precision Wire Products, Blairsville, for 25 years.She loved spending time with her grandchildren, going to the beach and taking care of her home and cooking.Surviving are her husband of 37 years, Bryan F. Pryce, whom she married April 20, 1979; her mother, Donna (Duty) Platter, of Blairsville; three sons, Austin C. Pryce, Noah B. Pryce (Jennifer) and Sayres C. Pryce (Chloe), all of Blairsville; six grandchildren, Marissa, Mason, Leah, Conner, Gianna and Isaiah; two sisters, Debbie Colgan (Bob), of Indiana, and Deana Cochran (Terry), of Miami, Fla.; and a brother, Shawn Platter (Tanya), of Havelock, N.C.She was preceded in death by her father.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N.
