Patterson, 88, of Londonderry, passed away to be with her Lord at 10:23 a.m. Friday, March 24, 2017, in the Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.She was born Feb. 26, 1929, in Ross County, to the late John T. and Helen M. Fink Smith.On Sept. 29, 1956, she married Gerald A. Patterson, who died Nov. 20, 1998.Surviving are children, Diane (Ronald) Allen, Beverly (Ronnie) Cochenour, Jeffrey (Trina) Patterson, Michael (Holly) Patterson, Rick (Marilyn) Patterson, all of Londonderry, Freda (Donald) Knisley of Richmond Dale and Janice Nelson of Columbus; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Rhoads of Williamsport; and many nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by an infant son, John W. Martin; daughter, Judith Julian; brothers, Donald and Eugene Smith; and a special friend, Marjorie Seymour.Funeral services will be held at noon on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, in the Ware Funeral Home, Chillicothe, with Rev. She was predeceased by beloved husband, James Edwin Ludlum; son, James Scott Ludlum; parents, Oscar Tillman Breeden, Sr. and Allen Millican Breeden; and brother, Oscar Tillman Breeden, Jr. Born in Keener, Alabama on Sunday, September 10, 1933, Peggy was raised in Glencoe and attended Jacksonville State University and Howard College, now Samford University in Birmingham. Married to the love of her life, Jim, in 1956, they were separated by his death in Roanoke, Virginia in 2010.  Peggy Jane will be lovingly remembered for her treasured holiday gatherings and as a consummate daughter, wife, mother and friend.
