Jeffrey D. Milko, 56, of Vintondale, formerly of Elyria, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, April 24, 2016.He was born April 8, 1960, in Elyria.Jeff was a graduate of Elyria High School, The Ohio State University and Lorain County Community College.He had worked as a supervisor for Aramark at Indiana University in Pennsylvania. He was also a part-time massotherapist.Jeff was gifted artistically. He enjoyed cooking, landscaping, floral design and loved his three cats.Survivors include his mother, Betty J. Milko (nee: Francis), of Elyria; and a brother, Jim P. Milko (Jeanette), of Lorain, Ohio.Jeff was preceded in death by his father, John P. Milko, in 1996.The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Road (at State Route 57), Elyria, Ohio, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday.Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Elyria.Online condolences can be expressed at www.laubenthalmercado.com.

Delaware County is being remembered as a "beloved" colleague by her hospital colleagues.Elizabeth Kurish, 60, was an emergency room nurse who worked at the University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center for decades, a hospital spokeswoman told cleveland.com. Char Wray, the president of the medical center, released a statement following Kurish's death."The entire team at UH Elyria Medical Center sends our condolences to the family of Beth Kurish, RN, who worked with us for almost 30 years," the statement says. "She was a beloved colleague and a personal friend. Our team is deeply saddened by this tragic loss."Kurish's family could not be reached Tuesday night.State Highway Patrol troopers responded about 9:30 p.m. Thursday to the Delaware County rest areas on Interstate 71 and found Kurish's body near the southbound lanes. A car registered in her name was found at the northbound rest area, a news release from the patrol said.Authorities believe Kurish was hit by an unknown vehicle, but no witnesses were identified as of Friday.
