Cindy Enochs, 60, of Bogota, died Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at her residence. Born March 18, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Allen and Pearl Elizabeth Pilkenton Childress. She was a homemaker and a member of Bogota Church of Christ. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 30, 2017 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by John Huse Robinson and Todd Hampton with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Doug Singleteary, Wally Childress, Jim Welch, Lynn Welch, Pete Welch and William Pilkenton.The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 29 at the funeral home.She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Leon Enochs; one daughter, Kristi Willis (John Tyler) of Newbern; her granddaughter, Anne Tyler Willis; one sister, Judy Blair (Bill) of Bogota; one brother, Joe Childress of Chicago, IL; her niece, Kelly Jo Blair and fiance’ Justin Hicks of Dyersburg. Thomas Luther Dunivant, Sr., 90 of Kenton, Tennessee died on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at Tennova Regional Hospital Of Jackson in Jackson, Tennessee.Born Saturday, July 31, 1926 in Dyer County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Jessie Dunivant and the late Maud Todd Dunivant. He was a retired employee of the Dyer County Highway Department, lifetime member of the Everlasting Church of God and a fifty-year member of the Newbern Masonic Lodge.Funeral services for Mr. Dunivant will be 12:00 PM on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Rev. Bill Parks. Interment will follow in New Salem Cemetery in Mason Hall, Tennessee. Police.Investigators say they determined both men were responsible for firing shots during what turned out to be a deadly robbery attempt.Police say Marquis Thurman and Adrian Dunn went to a home on Kenton Street late Monday night, knocked on the front door, went inside and confronted a man they knew over money.Investigators say a disorder ensued and multiple shots were fired and Thurman and Dunn ran off.Police say Nova Gallman, 2, who was on the couch in the room, was shot in the head. She later died at the hospital.The man, 27, who was confronted, who was identified as the boyfriend of Gallman’s mother, was shot in the abdomen, but survived.The two suspects were arrested at a hospital after checking themselves in for injuries suffered during the gunfire.The two were initially charged with assault and robbery. Both men pleaded not guilty to those charges on Wednesday, prior to the charge being upgraded to murder against each man.They remain in jail without bond.ABC 36 learned this wasn’t the first time the two have been in trouble with the law. Their last assignment was the Armed Forces Staff College in Norfolk (1970) and they retired in Virginia Beach, where Naomi resided until her death.Naomi was born Sept. 10, 1919, in Kenton, Del., to Isabella and Charles Urian, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her loving husband of 45 years, John Raymond “Dusty” Rhodes Jr.; brother, Charles Urian; sister, Jean Brown; and half-sister, Marie MacDonald.Naomi grew up in Dover, Del., where she worked the family farm and attended a one room school house. Naomi graduated John Bassett Moore High School in 1938 and after attending business college was working in Dover where she met her husband, Dusty, a dashing young Army Air Corps aviator. They married after the war and settled into a military life. Together they had five children. Later in life when asked by a daughter-in-law (and new mother) how she managed four children under the age of five, she responded “play pens.” Mom never lost her sense of humor.Naomi is survived by her children: daughters, Naomi Christine Rhodes, Kathleen Isabelle Rhodes, and sons, John Raymond Rhodes III, Robert Steven Rhodes, and Michael Thomas Rhodes, and their wives, Barbara, Betsy and Laura.
