Elizabeth “Marie” Leggett, 69Elizabeth “Marie” Leggett, 69, of Carrollton, died Oct. 7, 2016, in Hospice House in New Philadelphia.Born May 10, 1947,in Canton, she was a daughter of the late Harry Wesley and Georgia (Post) Berry.She worked at the Scio Pottery and various restaurants in the Carrollton area. She attended Harsh Memorial Church. Her hobbies were her gardens and canning the fall harvest. She was talented in sewing and quilting.She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Charles Leggett, who she married July 4, 1989; two sons, Mike (Dawn) Snair of Carrollton and Shawn Snair (companion Dawn Derheimer) of Adena; a daughter, Sarah Snair of New Philadelphia; a stepdaughter, Teresa (Jerry) Moreland of East Sparta; two stepsons, Dave (Robin) Leggett of Carrollton and Dennis (Amanda) Leggett of Roswell; a brother, Harry (Lori) Berry Jr. of Steubenville; a sister, Martha Householder of Illinois; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Brown; and her first husband, Richard Henry Snair.No services are planned at this time. Sunday for longtime Law Director Pericles "Perry" Stergios, who died over the weekend.Stergios, a Massillon resident, died Saturday at Community Hospice in New Philadelphia after a battle with cancer. He was 55.Stergios served as city attorney since 2003 and was a past president of the Stark County Bar Association. In addition, he worked as a private attorney in Massillon for a many years.Mayor Kathy Catazaro-Perry said she knew Stergios for nearly two decades and will always remember his "friendliness and great sense of humor.""Anything you'd talk to him about, he'd have a chuckle or a laugh to go with it," the mayor said on Sunday. "He'll really be missed, and to be gone at such a young age is tough on everyone."Megan Starrett, a Massillon city councilwoman, was a law intern for Stergios from 2007 to 2011 at his city office. She said he helped land her a position as a Stark County attorney and will always be appreciative of his support."It's sad to see him go. The city lost a very good man," Starrett said.According to his obituary, Stergios graduated from Washington High School in 1979 and earned an undergraduate degree from Bowling Green State University in 1983.
