April 1, 2017 in Tucson, AZ. On September 7, 1955 in Iowa City, IA, she was the first of eight children born to Katy and Bill McMahon, who moved their family to Tucson in '61. Sheila attended St. Cyril Parochial School, graduated from Catalina High with the class of '73, and received her degree in Accounting from the University of Arizona in '77. An avid outdoorswoman, she could often be found running, hiking, or skiing with her husband, John, whom she met during their work at Hughes/Raytheon and married in '84. She is preceded in death by sister, Kathleen; father, Bill; and husband, John. She is survived by mother, Katy; sisters, Susan and Patricia (Daryl); brothers, Mark, Mike, Tim (Jill), and Dan (Karla); daughters, Sarah and Carla (Jon); and a number of cousins, nieces, and nephews. Duda, 64, of Stratford, beloved wife of William H. Duda, died on Friday, February 17, 2017 at her home. Mrs. Duda was born in Bridgeport to Anna and Joseph Golias. She was a graduate of Saints Cyril and Methodius School and Bunnell High School, Class of 1970.Marlene had worked as an executive secretary and General Electric corporate headquarters and Textron-Lycoming. Marlene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her grandsons were the sunshine of her life. Marlene loved flowers, butterflies and angels. She enjoyed watching horror movies, much to her husband's chagrin.In addition to her husband, she is survived by her loving daughter, Rebecca Johnson and her husband, David, of Meriden; two cherished grandsons, Ryan and Evan; one brother, John Golias and his wife, Brenda, of FL; her mother-in-law, Lillian Duda, of Stratford; and nieces, nephews and cousins. ARTHUR PAUL PIVIKROCK SPRINGS — A Mass of Christian burial for Arthur Paul Pivik was Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, at the Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Rock Springs. Interment took place in the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery. A vigil service with rosary was recited Jan. 20, 2017, at the church.Mr. Pivik, 79, of Rock Springs passed away Friday, Jan. 13, 2017, at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County. A lifelong resident of Rock Springs, Mr. Pivik died following a brief illness.He was born Feb. 9, 1937, in Rock Springs, the son of Joseph Pivik and Dorothy Frances Taucher Pivik.Mr. Pivik attended schools in Rock Springs and was a 1955 graduate of Rock Springs High School.Mr. Pivik worked for Teton Lumber Company in Wilson following graduation. He entered the U.S. Army on Oct. 10, 1955, at the Old Custom’s Building in Denver He served for three years and entered the U.S. Army Reserve for one year in Jackson Hole.
