The family and friends of Dr. Jan Huston Pryor join the community to mourn her passing. Jan and her favorite dog Peter-Paul died tragically on March 21, 2017.Jan is survived by her loving husband, Jonathan Pryor, whom she described as her rock and calming influence; Amy Kolb, her confidante and nanny; her twelve children: Lupita, Daniela, Andrew, Julia, Aleona, Timothy, Jessica, Elizabeth, Roy, Luke, Hayat, and Maeruf, and her grandchildren: Jade, Lilliana, Landon Jonathan, and Leander. She is also survived by her siblings: Jill Huston Wellman of Pennsylvania, Karen Huston Karydes of Maryland, and John Huston of Texas. Jan was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alice Huston, and her beloved horse, Rocky.Jan was born in Decatur, Illinois, raised in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, and graduated with a B.S. degree in Nursing from Michigan State University followed by an M.S. degree in Clinical Psychology from Western Michigan University. Betty was born in Pryor on February 9, 1947 to Adolphus and Ruby (Thompson) Owen. On December 8, 1966 she was united in marriage to Donald Abbott and together raised three children. Betty was a very crafty person. She enjoyed cake decorating, wood working, and needlework. She was always active in her children and grandchildren’s activities and even served as a Girl Scout Leader. Betty also ran several small businesses. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harlan Henry and Irene Finnell Deverell.He is survived by his son, Howard Harlan Deverell and his wife, Viva Pryor Deverell, and their children, Liza and Darvee Deverell of Ocoee; his daughter, Amy Cavett and her husband, Dennis Cavett, and their children, Eric (Jennifer) Cavett and Megan Cavett, and his great-grandchildren, Jaycee and Jackson Cavett of Cleveland; one sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Jimmy Baker; nieces, Pam Baker and Wendy Canida and her husband, Darryll. Also surviving are Betty Curbow, a longtime companion; and Opal Deverell, mother of their son, Howard.The family expresses special thanks to Keith Stephens, a great friend and caregiver.He was a 1954 graduate of Bradley County High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
