Alan Jay Steele of Kirksville, MO; one daughter, Anda Reidt of Gray Summit, MO; and one grandson Andrew Reidt of Gray Summit, MO.He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson Quinton Steele on August 11, 2015.Andy was a graduate from Novinger High School with the Class of 1953 and attended Kirksville State Teachers College (now Truman State University) three years. From 1958 to 1960, Andy served in the United States Army stationed in Germany and was honorably discharged in October of 1960. He was also a member of the Army Reserves four years. After returning home, Andy and his father owned Steele Construction Company several years. In 1970, Andy went to work for Jerry Crist Construction Company where he was employed until retiring in 2000.Andy was a member of Hamilton Street Baptist Church of Kirksville where he served on the church building committee several years. He was a past member of #105 Masonic Lodge, served as Jobs daughter’s leader, coached Little League Baseball, was a board member of the Morelock Cemetery, and collected Lewis L‘amour books.Public visitation will be held Monday (December 5, 2016) from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday (December 6, 2016) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Hunsaker officiating.
