RINGLING — Funeral services for Joyce Ruth (Richardson) Thomas, 84, of Ringling are scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, at the Ringling Church of Christ with Brian McGahey officiating. Interment will follow at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.Joyce was born on March 19, 1932, at Grady to the late Samuel Hudgeon Richardson and Mary Ethel (Austin) Richardson. She departed this life Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017, at a healthcare facility in Ardmore.Joyce was raised in Grady attending school at Ringling, graduating high school in 1950. She moved to Oklahoma City where she became employed within a bank. While carpooling back home to visit, she was introduced to AJ Thomas. She and Jay fell in love and were united in marriage on Aug. 30, 1958, at Del City. They moved to Texas and settled in Greenville, Texas, for several years. Huggins, 74, of Ringling will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017, at the Community Fellowship Outreach Center A/G with Chad Barron officiating and Nick Ellis assisting. Interment will follow at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery.Troy was born Jan. 30, 1943, on Sunshine Road in Davis, to Jewel David and Ruby Viola Payne Huggins. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on his birthday Jan. 30, 2017. He received the best birthday gift.Troy attended school in Claypool and Ringling. He married the former Jo Ann Sullivan in 1960 at Wichita Falls, Texas. They moved to Oklahoma City while he worked at Caines Coffee, then moved to Claypool where he worked on Don Howard’s Ranch and raised two children, Pam and Mike. They finally moved to Ringling in 1972 and had their third child Jennifer. (Thompson) Pogue, 96, longtime resident of Ringling are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at the Ringling United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles McConnell, the Rev. John Marks and family members officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.Mrs. Pogue was born Jan. 12, 1920, on the banks of Mud Creek at Stoner, Okla., to the late Charley C. Thompson and Bessie Alice (Bowden) Thompson. She was called home to heaven on Tuesday evening, Jan. 10, 2017, at Marlow just two days before her 97th birthday.Mrs. Pogue was raised at Stoner attending school there. She married the love of her life, Charles Edward Pogue on July 14, 1935, and from that union came two daughters and two sons. She was pre-deceased by her sister, Eleanor Ringling of Falmouth, and brother, Lansing Pocknett, of Mashpee. Sheila is survived by her brothers, Wilson Buddy Harding, of Mashpee, and Charles Harding Jr., of Sagamore. Sheila leaves behind her son, Bryan E. Besse and wife, Kimberly M. Besse, their children, Bryce E. Besse and Ava M. Besse. Sheila was also the Godmother to Jeannette Vasta, who resides in Scottsdale, Arizona, with her husband, Robert Vasta, and children, Danielle and Michael Vasta.Sheila graduated from Becker College in 1949 and led an active and fulfilling life. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and shopping. She retired after 43 years of service with the Federal Government and was assigned during her career to numerous locations within the US and overseas. Sheila will be remembered for her generosity, tenacity, leadership and dedication to her family. She was a very hard worker, visionary and intelligent individual who inspired many others to pursue their dreams and not question their goals.Service will be held at the Nickerson-Bourne funeral home, 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne, MA, on Friday, 12/02 10a-Noon. During this period, Herbert played trombone with the Winston-Salem Symphony, the Jimmy Meyers Orchestra, the Harry Snell Trio, Ice Capades, Ringling Brothers, Barnum & Bailey Circus, National Rodeo Association, and many other concerts through Hollywood Local 47. He was an active reservist, and retired as colonel in 1972 with 30 years of service to the Air Force.The family moved to Mountain Lakes, N.J. in 1965, where Herb continued to work for Bell Laboratories in Whippany. He dedicated his time outside of work to regular performances with a variety of acts, including Bob Hope, Judy Garland, Arthur Godfrey, the Captain Kangaroo Show, American Steel and Weldry Band, the Fairleigh Dickinson University Symphonic Band, and the Silver Starlight Orchestra at venues such as Radio City Music Hall, Carnegie Hall, and the Bickford Theater. He also volunteered as a coach for local softball leagues in both Mountain Lakes and Boonton. He was an ardent supporter of local athletics, and actively supported his son and grandsons in their athletic endeavors in baseball, hockey, football, and luge.He was predeceased by Eloise in June 2009. He is survived by his children Sandra Maddox, David Maddox and his partner Cindy Curran of Vineyard Haven, his grandson James Dolan and his partner Penny Allen, his grandson Lawrence Dolan and his wife Leslie Cosgrove, and his great-grandson Gabriel Dolan. The family wishes to thank CVPH R-6 and Plattsburgh Rehab and Nursing Center for their excellent service and care of Herbert during his last weeks. Donations in Herbert’s name may be made to the Honor Flight Network at honorflight.org.Services are scheduled for Tuesday, August 23, at R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh from 5 to 7pm.
