Midlothian; sons, James Lucas Stone (Becca) of West Medford, Mass. and Jacob Hunter Stone of Richmond; daughters, Jordan Louise Pickering (Dan) of St. Paul, Minn. and Keller Stone Johnson (Andrew) of Lynchburg, Va.; her six grandchildren, Caleb, Cole and Caroline Johnson of Lynchburg, Sam and Annie Stone of West Medford, Mass., and Paige Pickering of St. Paul, Minn.; and her cousin, Audrey Thompson of Charlottesville. She was a 1974 graduate of Lane High School in Charlottesville and received her RN degree from Piedmont Community College in 1982 before moving to Richmond. She left nursing to become a full time mom in 1988 and served many roles including room mother, Bible study leader, mission friend's teacher, mission project leader and exchange student host mom. She was a long time member of Huguenot Road Baptist Church. Debbie had a vibrant personality, a tremendous gift for hospitality, was an avid bridge and tennis player and loved to travel. Her most cherished role was "Gi" to her ever increasing number of grandchildren. She was widely loved, left us too soon and will be greatly missed. The family received friends from 2 until 4 p.m. Sunday, January 29 , 2017, at The Huguenot Chapel - Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd. Midlothian, VA 23113. After an honorable discharge from the United States Navy, where he served as a medic during the Korean War, he began his career in the banking industry. He graduated from Lynchburg College in 1956. George was also a graduate of the Stonier School of Banking, Rutgers University, University of Virginia American Institute of Bank Management, Public Relations and Marketing and North Western University. He held several offices in various local banking associations before his retirement. Mr. Marshall was preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jean Laughon Marshall; two daughters, Stephanie Willis and Andrea Dahlman; and four grandchildren, Kyle Willis, Peyton Willis, Spencer Dahlman and Stewart Dahlman. She was a graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High School with the class of 1952 and attended West Virginia Wesleyan College. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Buckhannon and was a member of the D.A.R. Barbara was a wonderful loving wife and mother, and was a hero to her family putting their needs above everything else. In the 1980s and 1990s, when Barbara lived in Lynchburg, Va., she loved to make crafts and display them at craft shows all over Virginia. During that period, after the children were grown, she worked at the CVCC book store, and also volunteered at her church, where she was the financial secretary. Barbara loved to travel in the motor home, and was a member of the Mountaineer Chapter of The Family Motor Coach Association.
