CINCINNATI —Firefighters from across Greater Cincinnati paid their respects for West Chester firefighter Tim Burns Tuesday during a 26-mile funeral procession and service in his honor.AdvertisementThe procession began at the Paul Young Funeral Home in Mount Healthy and headed north, closing several streets as they stopped at all the fire departments where Burns served.Burns spent 32 years saving lives, most recently with the West Chester Fire Department, where he served 19 years.Firefighters from Hamilton, Deefield Township, Mason and Middletown saluted as the procession passed by.The procession arrived at the Springdale Church of the Nazorean at 10 a.m. for Burns’ funeral service. Clarksville, Tennessee.   Mr. Mines was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga before moving to Clarksville to be closer to his beloved grandchildren. Ellsworth was born June 24, 1940, in Winchester, Tn. He joined the United States Navy in 1957 then married Martha Sue Mines in 1960. He owned his own catering service, Bronc’s Catering and also worked many years for Adams Lithographing Company.  Ellsworth had a passion for reading books and viewing western movies.  He was an avid coin and stamp collector, a hobby he enjoyed very much. He was known for being a kind and thoughtful man.  He never met a stranger and would always share his stories and experiences with others. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Martha Sue Mines and his beloved mother, Lillie Mae Mines; brothers, Kenneth and Ronald Mines. Those left to cherish his memories are his children, Timothy, Dan and Patricia Mines; four grandsons, Adam, Matthew, Timothy and Jacob Mines; one granddaughter, Reegen Bailey; four great-grandchildren, Scarlett and Lorelei Rutledge, Beckham and Adaley Mines; four brothers, Anthony, Maurice, Michael and Paul Mines. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. on Monday, June 12, at Chattanooga Funeral Home East ...

Dorothy Maxine Hayward, 93, of Glenside, Pa., formerly of Hookstown, died Monday afternoon, May 29, 2017, at Wyncote Place, Wyncote, Pa.Born May 18, 1924, in Chester, W.Va., she was the only child born to the late John Joseph and Emma Jeanette (Torrence) Craig. A homemaker, she was a member of the Green Valley United Methodist Church, Shippingport and had worked as a legal secretary and waitress and also had written columns for the East Liverpool Review. She served on numerous committees at her church and was a longtime member of the South Side School Board.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Lawrence Hayward, in July 1995.Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Jeff Caler, Glenside, Pa., and Rita and Dan Dawson, Hermitage, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Spencer Dawson, Kristin Courtwright, Marshal and Allison Caler, and Amanda and Ken Frederick, and three great-grandchildren, Kylee and Tristin Courtwright, and Robby Frederick.Family and friends are welcome to call Saturday, June 3, 2017, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. at MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, PA 15050.
