Lavonne served as an officer at city and state levels for the National Secretaries Association, was a member and volunteer in UNC Emeritus Faculty Association and a Charter member and volunteer of Two Rivers Fellowship. Lavonne like to read the Bible, Anne Perry mysteries and Louis L’Amour westerns. She enjoyed traveling and attending concerts of the Greeley Philharmonic and Chorale with friends. For more than half a century she was a fan of the Saint Louis Cardinals and many years a fan of both the Oakland Raiders and Pittsburgh Steelers.Lavonne is survived by her two stepsons, John Addis Beel Jr. (Janet) of Venetia, Pa., and Jeffrey Alan Beel (Sarah) of Thornton; step-grandchildren, Alyssa Marie Beel Gonzales (Chris), John Andrew Beel both of Pa. and Andrew Christian Beel of Thornton; two brothers, Dennis Derrel Henninger of Hemet, Calif. and Lyle Douglas Henninger (Lynn) of Idyllwild, Calif.; numerous nieces and nephews and scores of friends.She was preceded in death by her husband, John; parents; two brothers, Elmer Leo Henninger and Delmer Ward Henninger; one sister, Roberta Louise Fraze; and one step grandson, Christopher Michael Beel.A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 7, 2016, at Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 28th St., Greeley.
