WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. — Ryan Fladhammer, 21, of Wisconsin Dells and active duty member of the U.S. Navy, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, April 16, 2017, at his residence in Chesapeake, Va.Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, April 24, at the Conway-Picha Funeral Home in Lyndon Station, Wis., with Pastor Rick Engen officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.Ryan was born Nov. 5, 1995, in La Crosse. He attended high school in Wisconsin Dells, and following graduation, to satisfy his ambition to serve his country, he enlisted into the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Virginia, attaining the rank of HT3/E4. His primary duties were hull maintenance technician, where he was able to apply his abilities and talents as a fabricator and welder on-board ship. Berlin Lions Club, and New Berlin Golf League.Michael is survived by his wife, Connie Holzinger of Reedsburg, Wis.; daughter, Jamie Holzinger of Prairie du Sac; a sister, Judith (Joseph) Nelson of Wisconsin Dells, Wis.; sisters-in-law, Jeanette (Gerald) Jessop of La Valle, Patsy (William) Voltura of Elkhart, and Susan (Gregory) Sexton of West St. Paul, Minn.; and brothers-in-law, Mark (Judy) Wanless of Edgerton, Paul (Sarah) Wanless of Decorah, Iowa, and Eric Wanless of Reedsburg. Also surviving are nieces, nephew, cousins, and one uncle, Ernest Hedges of Melbourne, Fla.Preceding him in death were his parents, Kurt and Eunice Holzinger; a brother, Kurt Holzinger; a sister, Susan Bilka; and parents-in-law, Gale and Marie Wanless.In hopes that a cure and prevention can soon be found for the condition that affected him shortly after retirement, Michael donated his brain tissue for use in studies related to Frontotemporal Dementia with Parkinsonism being done by the Mayo Clinic.Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 2, 2016, at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, 624 N. Willow St., Reedsburg, with Father David Carrano officiating. A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016, at the HOOF FUNERAL HOME, 312 N. Park St., Reedsburg, where a Scripture Service will be held at 6 p.m. There will also be visitation at the church on Friday, Sept. 2, 2016, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Reedsburg, with military rites provided by Reedsburg Veterans Honor Guard.The Hoof Funeral Home is serving the family.

With his loving family by his side, James Joseph Van Dinter, age 86, of Wisconsin Dells, Wis., decided it was time to go Home.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at 11 a.m. at ST. CECILIA'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, with Father Eric Sternberg celebrating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, July 5, 2016, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the church. Another visitation will be held on Wednesday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 11 a.m., with a "Celebration of Jim's Life" to follow.Jim was born in Little Chute, Wis. on Sept. 2, 1929, the son of Neary and Mary (Swinkles) Van Dinter.
