On May 28, 1966, he was ordained as a priest; he was called to serve at St. Joe’s Catholic Church of Menomonee, Wis., St. Stephen’s Church in Stevens Point, Wis., St. Mary’s Church of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., and St. Lawrence Church of Wisconsin Rapids. He was also the Family Life Director for the Diocese of La Crosse, Wis., and co-founded the Family Center Inc., in Wisconsin Rapids for abused women and children.On November 6h, 1988, Joseph married the love of his life, Rosemary Czappa and they had 28 beautiful years together. Joseph worked as a psychotherapist for the University of Minnesota Medical Center of Fairview, Minn. He also worked for the Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin. He co-founded Grace Place shelter in Somerset, Wis., for homeless people. Joseph and Rosemary lived in Somerset from 1990 to 2010. Joseph and Rosemary moved to Rochester in 2010, where they remained until he passed.Joseph will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Rosemary; his stepchildren, Shawn (Kim) Thomas and their children, Austin and Delany. He is further survived by his siblings Louise, Conrad, Judy and Paula.He was preceded in death by his parent; and siblings, Earl Jr., Rosemarie, Guy Paul and Linda. Even at her weakest moment she was able to show dignity, love and grace, making sure each of us knew how much we were loved.Cynthia was born on Dec. 27, 1938, in Wisconsin Rapids to Bertram and Irene Nason. Cynthia left Wisconsin Rapids to pursue a nursing degree through Madison General Hospital. It was during this time she met her future husband, Duane Schumacher, and were married on June 8, 1967. Cindy worked at Associated Physicians as an R.N. until she became a mother in 1969. She worked at home raising three children while supporting Dewey's busy law practice at DeWitt Ross and Stevens.Cindy's favorite pastimes were her kids, friends and reading. Her voracious appetite for reading and books could have filled a small library. There were two places that Cindy enjoyed the most, her home on Lake Mendota and her condo on the gulf in Bonita Springs, Fla. The ocean and her Florida friends brought much happiness in recent years. She was a beloved grandmother to her five amazing grandchildren, Caleb, Trevor, Ellie, Jack and Sydney, all of whom have special qualities and talents that she loved to brag about and was so proud of.Cindy is survived by her three children, Amy (BJ) Jordan of Fitchburg, Beth (Alex Torres) of Monona and Scott of Middleton; sister, Sarah Nason of Wisconsin Rapids; five grandchildren; and lastly, ...
