Bea (Zimmerlee) Henthorn. She graduated from Elroy High School, Elroy, Wis., in 1952. Rita married her loving husband, Ray, at the Elroy United Methodist Church on Aug. 8, 1952.Rita and Ray lived in Wonewoc, Spring Green, Middleton, and Madison during their marriage of 63 years. In her own quiet way Rita prided herself on her strong work ethic, loyalty, caring, and empathy for others, with the exception of when she was playing cards with Ray. Rita's work career was quite varied. She was employed for 10 years at St. Benedict Center and 25 years at St. Bernard's Parish in Middleton before retiring in 2015.Family and friends were Rita's passion. She always enjoyed time shared with those closest to her. Rita gave of herself to many people in many ways. Her positive attitude and poised outlook on life left everyone feeling better about the world. Led by her example and her presence in their lives, family and friends have learned to be better people themselves. Her generous and thoughtful nature is how she will be remembered.Rita is survived by her husband, Ray; sons, Tony (Jayne) and Mike (JoAnn); daughter, Tammy; and grandchildren, Jack, Kiel, and Elise, Emily, Jeffrey, and Abbey.A Celebration of Rita's life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2016, at the UNITED METHODIST CHURCH in Wonewoc, with Pastor Peace Kim officiating.
