Monday, October 31, 2016

Christ.Kim Dunn, director of marketing and special events for the Alexander City Chamber of Commerce says Sun Festival attendees will enjoy Papa’s musical gift.“I have personally seen him in concert and he puts on a phenomenal show,” Dunn said. “I think that everyone will enjoy what he has to say through his music. It’s free, so we just hope that everyone will come out and enjoy it.”Papa has recorded several Christian albums including “Matt Papa Live,” “This Changes Everything,” “Look and Live,” “Your Kingdom Come,” “You Are God” and “Scripture Songs & Hymns” I and II.The Gold City Quartet will be performing at the Celebrate the Son concert in the Benjamin Russell High School auditorium.“The Gold City Quartet is one of the oldest quartets in the country,” said Anderson of the Gadsden-based group that formed in 1980. “They are a southern male Gospel quartet that is very well respected, very tight harmony, really good talent. And they have a somewhat local guy that sings with them now. Scott Brand from Clay County is their lead singer that joined them about a month ago, so we’ll have a lot of Clay County folks coming, too.”Gold City’s latest project, “Gold City – Authentic,” features some of the group’s most popular songs from the 1980s with updated tracks and vocals featuring today’s Gold City lineup.
