Mrs. Griffith worked 25 years at Kroger in the Meat Department, she was the first female member of the Meat Cutter’s Union. Monday, November 07, 2016Frances “Willie” Griffith, age 107 of Bumpus Mills, TN, passed away, Friday, November 4, 2016 at her home. She was born August 5, 1909 in Russellville, KY daughter of the late Jacob and Nancy Bilyeu Brady. Mrs. Griffith worked 25 years at Kroger in the Meat Department, she was the first female member of the Meat Cutter’s Union. She was very active in the community, with memberships at the Stewart County Senior Citizen Center, Stewart County Friends of the Public Library, Stewart County Historical Society, Tennessee Farm Bureau, AARP since 1981, and a founding father of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Riley Griffith, daughter, Felicia Gillman, brothers, Gordon Brady, Jake Brady, sisters, Louise Wood, Irene Fuqua, Elizabeth White and sons-in-law, Ed Miller, Bill Montgomery, Tommy Heath, Bill Billman, and Joe Gillman. She is survived by her son, Albert Griffith (Betty), Linden, TN, daughters, Frances Vierk (Duane) Merritt Island, FL, Florene Heath Billman, Bumpus Mills, TN, Sue Miller, San Antonio, TX, Judy Montgomery, Bumpus Mills, TN, brother, H.
Monday, November 07, 2016Doris Propst of Honey Creek, Mo, and Mary Ann Propst, of Jefferson City Mo.; two grandchildren, Joan B. Pierson and her husband Kenneth of Jefferson City, Mo. and James R. Case and his wife Jeanne of Russellville, Mo.; and three great grandchildren, Perrin V. Pierson, Taylor B. Case and Ryleigh R. Case.She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Kenneth Propst and Robert Propst.Visitation will be held at Freeman Mortuary from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 31, 2016. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 31, 2016 in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Russ Bowder officiating and the Reverend Ken Funke delivering the musical selections.
